Wash Disabled

Fri Jul 09, 2010 9:18 am

Yet more teething issues with MWP 2010 1.01.

Wash is now disabled even when the status bar eventually becomes Idle.

Any ideas?

You say "Wash is now ..." which I guess means that 2010 worked previously. Yes???? If so, then did you have any kind of crash, power surge, or shut it down (i.e. turn the power switch off) before Windows had closed normally??? There have been some problems with rapidly shutting down Windows before and they've fixed some of them but there are still a few stragglers they're having trouble finding.

You can also go to Help>>Send Support Logs, include a description about the problem and email your logs to Firetrust.

After that, if none of these other thins are a possibility, you might want to wait until stan-qaz and/or Sidewinder can reply. After that wait for rusticdog to answer you.

Is your error tab showing (stupid little triangle thing to the right of the settings tab) if it is what are the errors shown there?

If you look at all the messages in the grid are any of them still showing the I'm busy spinner in front of them?

If you clear the grid (click on any message and type a C or c) and check again does it work?

No error tab.

It 'appears' to have resolved after a reboot. Let's see.

Exactly the same problem here. Once I have washed some Emails the next Emails that appear can not be washed as the wash mail button stays greyed out. Its then OK after a reboot until mail is washed again when the problem returns. I am running 1.01 on Windows 7 64 bit.

The good news is that it is Monday morning in NZ so maybe someone will have an official suggestion.

You could send in a set of logs with a link to this topic and see if they tell the developers anything. You can send them from the help menu in 2010.

I sometimes see things hanging in mid air when MW2010 get stuck at the "evaluating" stage.

If I stop that I can "Wash Mail".

Appears to be problem with connection to POP3 server.
If Mailwasher starts before internet connection an error occurs and Mailwash button does not appear.
Try stopping Mailwasher, start internet connection, restart mailwasher.
Meanwhile change settings to manual startup so you can control.
Cheers Alex
