Un-movable Window

Is this bug or a feature ?
When I launch MWP it is on my main monitor. I can re-size/move it around. When I move the window to my second monitor and release it the window is now un-movable and un-resizeable.
I'm running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.
Thanks much;
Ray

Hi Ray
We all run dual monitors at the office and never experienced anything like this.
As a test, in your Windows7 Control Panel >> Personalisation >> can you alter your theme to Windows 7 Basic, restart MailWasher and let us know if the same behaviour still occurs.

Rusticdog;
While in 'basic' mode I was able to move & re-size the window. I switched back to Win 7 AERO (?) appearance, and I can still move/re-size the MWP window.
I will reboot later and see if I get the stuck window again.

OK, that's a good start. When you have Aero enabled, the MailWasher borders are different so that's why I thought it might impact. I wonder too if your video drivers might need updating. Certainly if the problem came back, that would be my first suggestion to try.

Also, MW2010 does not appear to remember its window position on shutdown and repeat this on startup again....ie.e. shutdown with it on my second monitor, reboot , open MW2010 and it defaults to Main moniotor.

Yup, on reboot MWP always reverts to main monitor. Weatherbug does same thing.

Still have problem of once it's moved to monitor #2 the window is frozen. I can minimize it, but not move or resize.
Will see if ATI has newer video drivers and upgrade & see if problem still persists.

Try exiting MailWasher first, there's a bug with our autosave not kicking in and when you shutdown the machine, the MW process might be killed and not saving window position

Hi,
Nope exiting makes no change, have tried various ways. Look forward to a updated release with these bugs ( Dual monitor based) sorted

. While I was not an instant fan as he old MW was simple and quicker (to load), I am beginning to prefer the later version.

Latest Update:
Un-installed ATI driver 10.5, rebooted, installed latest ATI driver 10.6.
No change in MWP window on secondary monitor. Once placed on secondary monitor the only functions I can do is minimize & close, can't resize or move.
Looking forward to ->.<- point update.

Just got the latest "automatic update" to 2010.1.0.4, and the un-movable window bug on second monitor is still present. Maybe a reboot will fix.
I'll keep you posted.
Ray.

We have no idea what causes this. It's odd given we all run multiple monitors in the office and never seen this behaviour at all....maybe I need to convince The Big Cheese to update my card
I assume it's a straight drag and drop across to the other monitor, not using any utility program to switch it ?

While I do use Ultramon to manage my desk tops...I'll just disable and try...one mo....nope it has no effect.
Trying to resize on secondary monitor is not possible.
