Failed to login to POP3 server

I just did the upgrade to version 2010. For some of the accounts I get the message: 'Failed to login to POP3 server'. When I manually configure the POP3 account it checks the connection and confirms that the connection to the server is okay ('connection successful'). Still when I do a check mail, the above mentioned error comes up.

Who can help me further?

I identified this in beta testing recently, the problem seems to be either the length of your password or special characters within the password.

Change your password to one of up to 11 characters with only letters and numbers and see if that helps.

The devs have reproduced the problem so expect I expect a fix shortly, fingers crossed.

I did change the password (removing # characters) and then it works! Thanks for your response, let's indeed hope that this bug will be removed soon...

Yup, we've got a fix ready for this. We didn't have time to do a build today, so I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but I expect Monday we'll have something ready to try.

We haven't yet decided on just when to do another public release, however I expect it will be in the coming week to cater to this.

I have the same problem. Pro 2010 detected and uses the settings from Pro 654 and or Outlook. I am not sure which Program MWP 2010 is taking settings from. MWP 2010 indicated session connection successful when setting done manually. However when i do a mail check i keep getting the failure to logon to the pop 3. My pwd is capital letters. MWP 654 still works as usual. I have put in the settings manually as well as using the auto detect feature in MWP 2010. I have looked at my outlook and MWP 654 settings and everything I have tried for MWP 2010 still gives me the failutre to log onto the pop 3 account. There is only one mail account involved.I have uninstalled and reinstalled MVP 654 and 2010 several times. MVP 654 works and MWP 2010 will not connect
Any additional suggestions??????

Have you double checked to make sure that you don't have multiple account entries in the account list?

Does you password contain special characters, #, $, <, >

If it does then remove these characters and try again, a fix is in the pipeline, I have it for testing ATM and the password problem has been fixed.

I got brave and d/l and installedyour link and voila...it fixed the problem and MWP 2010 now logs in and retrieves
