Started today. When I click "check Mail" the bottom bar shows that there are several emails, but none appear in either pane. Emails that were sent today appear, but not older ones. Can't find a setting for this. I have ticked "show hidden emails"

Possibly they were being auto deleted....? check the recycle bin tab?

If no, while in the recycle bin, click "Show all emails logged" that'll show all emails MW has seen, are those emails listed there? if so, possibly your email program is auto downloading these emails before MW has time to display them...?
