When I booted up this morning, I noted that the "Wash" button was greyed out even though there were a number of messages. I clicked the icon for my email client and noted than none of the tagged messages had been deleted.
After processing the messages, I went to "Help" and displayed the "About" window and noted that I was back in trial mode. I reloaded my key successfully. Unfortunately, the "Wash" button continues to be greyed out on subsequent messages.

Re: WailWasher Reverts to Trial/Wash Button Problem
I closed and restarted MailWasher and now have the "Waswh" button back. Now to get rid of the new user display without having to first click on a message. I can't find the don't use new user display setting or a don't show this again button.

Re: WailWasher Reverts to Trial/Wash Button Problem
MailWasher was once again in "Trial" mode when I booted this morning. Had to re-register. Then I had to again close and restart MailWasher in order to have and active "Wash" button.
I how this isn't going to be a daily exercise.
Will have to check to see if I have log information.
Problem seems to only occur when restarting the computer after having shut it down over night.

Also do you have MWP set to load on Start-Up of your system? If so that may be part of an issue related to the registration if the application loads before you have web connectivity. Try changing this setting, close MWP and then restart to see if the registration is correct.
Re: WailWasher Reverts to Trial/Wash Button Problem
There have been previous reports of some system creating a problem during shutdown. As a temporary work around try closing MWP manually before you shut down.cfheinz wrote:Problem seems to only occur when restarting the computer after having shut it down over night.

This describes what occurs. I lack the expertise to cause WiFi start before starting MailWasher, though. Suggestions?

What happens if you don't re-register, but still restart MailWasher, does Wash become active ?cfheinz wrote:MailWasher was once again in "Trial" mode when I booted this morning. Had to re-register. Then I had to again close and restart MailWasher in order to have and active "Wash" button.

Re: WailWasher Reverts to Trial/Wash Button Problem
I haven't tried that, but I have restarted MailWasher during the day with no problem.
I think you've identified the lack of connectivity as the problem.
Why should that be a problem, though? Is MailWasher 2010 confirming the license each time it starts? Would seem that a cookie or registry entry would be a better solution.

A greyed-out Wash Mail button usually means that evaluation of downloaded mail is still in progress. Sometimes this is because it has stalled, or the MailWasherProApp.exe has died. If the evaluation is stalled, try Stopping it, Clearing the grid, and doing a new Check Mail. If that works, MailWasherProApp.exe was ok. If it doesn't, the only recovery, as you have discovered, is to stop and restart MWP.
I'm not saying this is how things should work - just that it may help to diagnose the problem so it can be fixed.
Nice beard, BTW...
Re: WailWasher Reverts to Trial/Wash Button Problem
I don't think being in Trial mode should cause the Wash button to be disabled - these are probably separate problems. They may have a common cause, though. I don't know how you have MWP set up - but if you are launching MWP automatically on startup, and automatically doing an immediate Check Mail, then it may be that Windows is still using excessive resources or hasn't connected to the Internet yet when MWP starts. Despite the theoretical multi-tasking capability of Windows, I always prefer to do things more or less one at a time - at least until Windows stabilizes after boot. I usually wait until Windows is up, and CPU and disk activity have dropped off, before I launch any programs. Once MWP is up, I usually wait 10-15 seconds before manually clicking Check Mail - just my own personal habit.cfheinz wrote:MailWasher was once again in "Trial" mode when I booted this morning. Re: WailWasher Reverts to Trial/Wash Button Problem
Yeah my suspicion is that we are seeing two problems here, because even if MailWasher was in Trial Mode, you should have a couple of weeks left and Wash Mail wouldn't disable. We also keep a cached copy of the Registration Certificate on your machine.
Seemingly you can reproduce this problem at will, so if you can make the problem happen where Wash is disabled >> then without making MailWasher work/restart etc...click Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter beta as the Ticket Number >> Send Logs.

Re: WailWasher Reverts to Trial/Wash Button Problem
Will do when I restart--probably tomorrow. I'll also let you know if there's no problem after my next cold start.
I don't really understand why the WiFi connect on this machine takes so long. It wasn't initially a problem. I suspect there's something in the Registry, but I'm an old green screen programmer and haven't developed the skills to tinker with it.

I'm no expert on that either, I tend to just reformat when the machine starts slowing down.
Firewall would be my first guess, if that's slow to life then it certainly would prevent any internet access.

Change you settings so that MWP does not try to do fetch at load time or you disable MWP from loading at Windows start and then manually load it after you get connectivity.

I don't recall the former as something in the Settings, but will take another look.

I don't understand the first option, but had planned to do the second if the problem persisted.Sidewinder wrote:Two things to try:
