New SPAM Filtering - HORRIBLE
What is the problem with Mailwasher Pro 2010? It is not pretagging ANYTHING at all as spam, nothing - Even ones that my provider is tagging in the subject. NOTIHNG, even ones with viagra in the topic - NOTHING is being red lines as spam - This is useless. The previous version was leaps and bounds superior as it at least tagged everything. Yes, I have spamhaus checked off, yes the levels have been adjusted but still nothing is being tagged?

Re: New SPAM Filtering - HORRIBLE
Have you been training your good/spam messages before washing your mail? This takes a while, couple hundred messages to get a decent rate for me.
If you are happy with your provider's subject tabbing you could easily make filters to detect the various tags they use and once tagged use the grouping feature that the new MW offers to put them into unique groups where you could more quickly deal with them.
Have you tried any of the filters suggested in the http://forum.firetrust.com/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=5575 topic?
Have you tried adding some common spam domain wildcards to the blacklist? See this post: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=5447&p=24148#p24148
Which Source of spam servers are you using?
Are you using the First Alert tool?

Re: New SPAM Filtering - HORRIBLE
Bounce is no longer a useful Spam fighting tool, and has not been useful for several years. Most (nearly all) spam comes from spoofed addresses - either made-up bogus addresses or addresses stolen from innocent third parties. When you bounce spam you are overloading mail servers and bombarding other folks like yourself - not punishing spammers. In fact, many ISPs will treat bounced messages like spam and report YOU for bouncing. Blacklists are nearly useless as well - since most addresses will appear once only, you fill up your blacklist and slow down MailWasher without improving spam detection. That's why these tools have been deprecated - to discourage their use while still keeping them available for the few rare situations where they can be useful.srstaves wrote:Where are the easy to click checkboxes for "Friend", "Blacklist", "Bounce" etc?? If you are still a non-believer regarding the Blacklist, create a Filter named Blacklist, add a From: senders address from one you would blacklist and then see how often you see the filter name in the Status column.
