On this new version, I get the above status on all messgaes but am still receiving them ok. I have added my address to the "Not to Me" filter specifying "Good" but I still get the "Note to me" displaying on the MW page. As I am not very "techie" could someone explain in plain English what I hav e to do. Thank you :) :) :)

The idea with the Not To Me filter is that MailWasher looks for messages that are not addressed to you on either the To or CC lines. You need to edit this filter to include all your own email addresses you have.

The Filter should be marking such emails as Spam, and not Good. So check the Filter Type is set to Spam.

Others here may have different approaches for this kind of filter, as our one we include is somewhat simplistic

Ah, and if you have multiple addresses you will want to set the filter rules to match ALL rules, not ANY. That's in the filter screen, was a mistake on my part

I did that, and sent a test mail to my own address. It still shows as "Not to me" in the status section.

Also not getting the "Wash Mail" icon either, goes straight to WLM.

I'm still having problems with this. emails are still coming through as "Not to me" in the Status box. I have set the "Not to me" filter to include my only email address but it doesn't make any difference. Is there anything else that I need to know or do to have my email address appear in the Status box. :help

Can you post a screen-shot of your not to me filter?

Sorry. Just how do I do that. I have copied the page onto a Word document but don't know how to transfer to here.

Press the PrtScr button on your keyboard usually above INS.

Open Paint (or your favourite graphics editor) and paste the screen capture (CTRL-V)

Remove (paint over) any personal info you don't want to share ie personal emal addresses.

Save the graphics to your Hard Disk as JPG or PNG.

Use the "Upload attachment" tab under the "Save | Preview | Submit" buttons of the forums post a reply screen.

Save it as a JPG type file, the forum doesn't like BMP files.

I didn't ask you to just copy/paste the filter since it contains your address and you don't want to post that as text, as a graphic screenshot it isn't a problem.

Change the "Contains"
Capture.PNG
Capture.PNG (2 KiB) Viewed 13826 times
to "Doesn't contain"
Capture.PNG
Capture.PNG (2.17 KiB) Viewed 13826 times
What is happening is ALL emails to your address are being flagged by this filter.

That does not work for me with the CC & BCC rules. Most of my emails don't have CC or BCC so they always trigger the Doesn't contain for these rules :(

It is a rare occasion that a message with have your addy in more than one field, e.g. TO:, CC: and BCC:, I would suggest sticking to TO: with a rule for each of your addresses and then make sure you select ALL rather than ANY.
