Prior to upgrading to MailWasher Pro 2010, I was using the latest version of MailWasher Pro and had a custom sound notification set for incoming mail. The default tone is not working for me. I am using Vista Home Premium 64 bit and have a custom sound set for MailWasher in the control panel. MailWasher is optioned to play sound on new mail. The only sound it plays is that very weak bell tone.
Any suggestions.

If there is a problem playing the file, MW reverts to the default. Does the file selected definitely exist ?michaelkenward wrote:This new feature does not work here.

Yes. It exists.
See attached. Others might like it. Zipped to allow .wav upload
It sits here on my PC.
C:\Windows\Media\Recordings\mailwasher.wav
Unfortunately, unlike other software, MW does not offer an option to test the file when you are selecting it.

Edit : That works for me.
Maybe it's just that you have MailWasher active as that won't trigger the sound/new mail notification

Re: Unable to Customize Sound in MailWasher Pro 2010
It is a pain in the neck but to hear your mail notification you must make sure the MW window isn't selected as rusticdog suggested.
You can simply click on the desktop outside the MW window if you don't run it full screen, if you do use the full screen you need to have another program running that you can put over a portion of the MW window as soon as you finish washing mail.
Every time you forget to do the above you will not be notified of new mail.
I put fixing this up as a suggestion here:

Re: Unable to Customize Sound in MailWasher Pro 2010
I don't think either of the latest responses apply here. Thanks anyway.
I had changed the sound a few days ago, as soon as the new version landed, but it did not achieve anything, no matter what I was doing.
However, having raised the issue, I wondered if it was the location that stymied MW. It should be able to delve into "system" locations, the last version did, but you never know.
So I moved a copy of the sound file to "C:\ProgramData\Firetrust\MailWasher".
This time, after restarting the PC, I hear what I want to hear.
The mail flow is low at the moment, it is the weekend here after all. I'll keep my eras open for developments.

Where was the sound file that wouldn't play originally located, which version of Windows are you using?
I just dumped my new mail sound file into the Media folder with the other Windows sounds on my XP box.
