Suggestion for the Help->About

Nowhere in the Help area or its splash screen is there a simple link to Firetrust/Mailwasher.

I can get at the forum, the on-line help file, report a bug or make a suggestion.

But no landing place for the main attraction.

I like to have this for a number of reasons: to get a quick and dirty link that I can send to people who might be interested; to see if there is an update if the automated process won't work. (It didn't here.)

Now I have to use one of the other links and navigate to where I want to go.

This is in line with my earlier observation that there is no easy way to get to the main web site from this forum.

Both of these absences are bad marketing practice.

Why not just use the tell a friend button?

Are you seriously suggesting that as a solution rather than a logical approach?

If so there are several reasons why it is bonkers:
  • it is counter intuitive,
  • is in the wrong place,
  • it does not tell me that I am going to land on the web site and,
  • as you have pointed out, may have been "dismissed".
And that's just for starters.

IMO the best place for a link is the bookmarks/favourites of your browser :facepalm

Meh, each to their own. There's certainly no harm in adding a link somewhere in that general area, we've always done that in the past.

The links in the preview pane graphic work for me. Putting one on the help screen would make sense too.

Is that the pane that everyone wanted to get rid of after first use?

Now blasted into oblivion by me.

Making it easy to retrieve might be another solution.

You can always get the graphic to show again under View >> Preview Pane Graphic. This doesn't enable it again each start, just for that time.

But yeah, the one folk wanted to get rid of :) ....so a link somewhere more obvious in the program would be good.
