If you don't care about what sound MailWasher plays when new mail arrives, then this thread won't be for you

Under Settings >> General >> Notifications >> you can choose to select your own custom sound.

Just so you know too, the only sound file you can set in MailWasher is .wav files. The sound and other new mail notifications also don't happen when MailWasher is active, but when MailWasher is minimised, or another program has focus they will.

Another sound file

Would it be possible to get the Programmers to add a “Test” button to the Settings>General>Notifications Pane so the User could make sure their .wav file works when they install it??? Thanks!

For those might be interested i found a score of melody of NZ Nat Anthem on www
set the notes into Sibelius 6.2 Music notation prog added a few articluation marks
etc set instrument then exported the 2 bar fragment as wav file.

Then reduced size of the music examples using Switch [very handy prog free] to reduce wav file size
from around 500Kb to around180KB.

Ps in case you havent guessed Im a musician now play Recorders Shakuhachi -
once played jazz double bass..another life..

Any other musicians on board?

Army bugle playing "Mail Call" great sound, you can hear it across the house. Someone singing mail boat's in: No talent for music here, not even allowed to sing in the shower.

Hate to do this Stan but ..... Yeah, I gotta agree with ya! That “Mailboat.wav” thing is ......... Well, I’m not quite sure WHAT it is, but music it ain’t!

EDIT:

Oh! And I know better than to attempt doing anything “creative” like that myself. All could be found to be appropriate for descriptive purposes of my attempt.
