I am using MW Pro:2010 and after washing my mail, it stays in the inbox until I go and manually delete it when the new mail comes in. I have just started using Mozilla Thunderbird but don't think it is anything to do with that....
Any help please.. and keep it simple....
Cheers

Is this a POP3 or an IMAP account?
You can check this in MailWasher by going to the Settings tab, then choosing Accounts (left hand side), and then the Incoming section. What does it say next to "Server Type"?

When you Wash the mail MWP deletes only the messages that are so marked from the mail server. All others remain on the Mail Server. When MWP starts Thunderbird you should perform a fetch which will download the good messages from the mail server and then delete them from the mail server (if your TB options are set to do that). The next time that you initiate a manual fetch in MWP or when it performs the next Automatic check it will find that the original messages have been removed from the server and then remove them from the InBox.Moira wrote:I am using MW Pro:2010 and after washing my mail, it stays in the inbox until I go and manually delete it when the new mail comes in. Re: Mail STILL there after washing
I have found that sometimes MWP leaves email that have been fetched by your email client on the MWP inbox grid even after another auto-fetch:( I have to clear the grid manually. I'm still investigating this my end.Sidewinder wrote:When you Wash the mail MWP deletes only the messages that are so marked from the mail server. All others remain on the Mail Server. Re: Mail STILL there after washing
I have just started getting this same behaviour that Moira sees since the update to 1.0.4 using Thunderbird (a mix of Pop and IMAP accounts) and Windows 7. Shutting down MWP and restarting it clears the list so that it looks like it should.

Have you tried clearing the inbox grid? (Press C then Y), this might be easier than exiting MWP, I sometimes have to do this to get the inbox inline with what is in my mailbox's.MikeShaw wrote:I have just started getting this same behaviour that Moira sees since the update to 1.0.4 using Thunderbird (a mix of Pop and IMAP accounts) and Windows 7. Re: Mail STILL there after washing
The phantom message problem requires a restart to clear, Firetrust is working on it but since it is a problem with the grid creation software package they use they have to get the grid vendor to fix it.
If they don't get some fix from them soon I'd hope that they reworked the clear grid (Ctrl-A) to do a thorough grid reset rather than just telling it to remove the messages it hasn't forgotten about.
