washing mail
I am using the most recent version of MailWasher. Sometimes when I press the wash mail button, nothing happens, so I have to "clear the message list" instead.

Down the very bottom left of MailWasher where the status bar is, what do you see ?
We are aware of a problem that can cause the behaviour you describe, it seems to be related to FirstAlert. So if the problem perists you might try disbaling that until we get a fix. Settings >> Spam Tools >> FirstAlert.

Re: washing mail
It says "washing mail complete" even though there are still messages sitting there that I wanted deleted. Also, I never had First Alert enabled.

If you Go to your Email program do the messages download?
If the answer to the above is yes then the problem is most likely the Grid corruption issue that FT is working on with the grid software vendor.
If the answer to the above is no then go to Help, Send Support logs, put a short description of the problem in the box and enter Chris in the Ticket Number.

Are there copies of the same exact messages shown in the Recycle Bin?AM1234 wrote:It says "washing mail complete" even though there are still messages sitting there that I wanted deleted. Also, I never had First Alert enabled.

Re: washing mail
Hi,
I have a similar problem.
When I only have a small amount of mail to be "washed" everything runs fine. Mail is deleted very quickly. However, as soon as I get any more than about 15 emails to be "washed" everything seems to hang. Mailwasher has currently been "washing" 16 emails for the last 20 minutes. It says "idle" at the bottom left of the screen, yet on the main "wash" icon it says "STOP" so it must be trying to wash but nothing is happening.
To get the mail washed properly, I have to mark it all as good, then re-mark them as bad but only doing ten at a time. It seems to cope with this OK and eventually I get them all dealt with.
Am I doing something wrong?

Re: washing mail
Doing something wrong, probably not, you may have a glitch of some kind. You might look at setting the account checking down a bit if you have multiple accounts on the same server and see if that changes things.
The firetrust guy here, rusticdog, may want some logs collected and sent in. I'd wait for him to tell you which settings to use and where to send them.

Re: washing mail
Something to try until RD checks in. Go to Settings, Accounts, Incoming, Advanced and try turning off "Enable for Deleting mail" under Pipelining and see if it makes a difference. Make sure you Save the setting change and I suggest that you close and restart MWP.
If it doesn't change the condition turn it back on and the next time you have the problem wait a short time to make sure it's hung, hit Stop. Then Help, Send Support Logs. Put in a brief description of the problem and put Chris in the ticket number box.

Re: washing mail
Your mail_freeola_net_2 account looks to have the wrong settings. So you'll want to fix that up...
As for the Wash failing, you're getting disconnects, am scratching my head why though.
For those technically minded..

Given you got this on two separate servers, my first thought would be to try disabling your AntiVirus email scanner and see if that makes a difference.SocketException - TCPSocket::CheckSocketStatus - connection error reading from the socket() failed with code 10053: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.

Re: washing mail
Sorry for not getting back sooner. I just realised too you have the PIPELINING options (mentioned above) still enabled, try disabling this for delete on the accounts.
Edit : At least that's what the settings file tell me, the logs seem to indicate perhaps it is off though :/
Another thing you could try is setting the Check Throttle to just one account at a time under Settings >> General >> Checking Mail.
