MW Pro 2010 does not remember the previous window position when restarting.

Upon start up the window appears hard left on my screen. I position it in the middle. When restarting it again appears hard left.

This has occured ever since the install on July 14th.

It seems to be working fine here on my XP DT.

Position and resize the window as you would like it. Then close MWP, wait for a short interval to insure the settings files are updated and then restart. See if that works on you system. If not post some details regarding the OS being used.

This ought to be fixed next release, it relates to a negative screen position.

Just downloaded (manually) and installed version 1.0.6.

MW 2010 still does not remember the prior window position - it still opens hard left.

Vista Home Premium
Service Pack 2
Intel Core 2 [email protected] GHz
RAM 3.00 GB
Virtual Memory 3.16 GB

Bugger.

Can you open MailWasher, move it to another location on the desktop, then restart so it opens hard left >> then go Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter chris as the Ticket Number >> Send Logs.

Great thanks. We might need to add some more logging into the next version to figure this out, every time MailWasher records it's position it's coming back at 0,0 every time.

Here's a replacement Startup XML file. If you download this and place into the folder found in MailWasher under Help >> User Files.

Also close MailWasher before moving the file into this folder. If you can then try starting MailWasher and let us know if it opens top left still, then try moving it to another place, restart and see if it opens in the correct location.

OK, downloaded and placed file in folder. I can position the sides and top but the bottom was below the task bar. Shut down MWP and restarted. It now holds the previous position.

I still need to have the bottom of the MWP window be visible - as it is behind/below the task bar it hides the status/minutes elapsed since last mail check, etc.

Full screen displays OK but I cannot keep it like that as it hides all my Desktop icons & gadgets.

Thanks.

OK, if you go into Help >> User Files >> then close MailWasher >> open the Startup.xml file in Notepad or similar. You should be able to adjust the height of MailWasher, try dropping in lots of 50.

Dropped height to 870 (-50). MWP now opens to correct position.

Are you located in NZ where the current time is 1:50 AM?

Many thanks!

Yup watching bad horror movies while dealing with emails :) The dog's got a fur ball caught in his throat anyway so I wouldn't be able to sleep listening to him gag his way around the house.

We still obviously need to figure out why the MailWasher positioning system isn't getting recorded properly and always coming back as 0,0 but at least now MailWasher is opening in the right place/size. If you need to adjust in the interim to a more preferred (permanent) location, then just edit that file as above.

You don't run any kind of software that reacts with window positioning etc... ?

Don't believe so as it's not been an issue before, even with the previous MWP version which I ran since 2004.

Thanks again for your great support. The few times I've had an issue with MWP the help has always been courteous and prompt!
