Spamcop reporting is coming, when all the stability fixes are done.
As for FirstAlert:

FirstAlert works differently in 2010, BTW, a fix is due for FirstAlert soon as there is a slight problem with it
so it is a good idea to switch it off ATM.

Re: SPAMCOP Report and First Alert
My question is why did you sell product that was not tested enough ? Do you have good beta-testers ? The old version is better than the new one. It is very strange for me and I don't understand at all. You did this just for money ?

Re: SPAMCOP Report and First Alert
Just like to add I previously used Mailwasher in the early days and decided to return to the program now I have recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 7 as an operating system.. I seem to be receiving a lot of SPAM of late which tells me somebody has placed me on a SPAM list somewheres and this is being copied and distributed amongst the great unwashed SPAMMERS out there..
I downloaded and installed MailerWasher FREE which works with a single email account and found the SpamCop reporting in there and I used this whilst testing the program. It was based on the FREE version I decided to pay for the upgrade for multiple accounts but Mailwasher Pro is no good to me if I can't report my SPAM emails to SpamCop..
I need this feature as soon as possible otherwise I'm simply bouncing emails into the great internet space out there.. I need to have a viable system where I can not only blacklist SPAMMERS but where I can report the mothers to SPAMCOP..
Any idea when the SpamCop Reporting feature will be implimented into MailWasher Pro? And if so, do you have a possible time in the near future when this will be released?
Thanks in advance for any information given..

Or, and this is just a crazy suggestion. That perhaps there is approximately 154,654,473 differently configured computers out there, so you just cannot test for all situations.

Yes, it was all just for money. We are right now just rolling in a big pile of money laughing and snorting cocaine off hookers backsides.....ecoca wrote:My question is why did you sell product that was not tested enough ? Re: SPAMCOP Report and First Alert
I'm quite keen for the guys to start work on Spam Reporting within the next fortnight, this of course does depend on potential other issues, but we do recognise this as a big requirement. We want to do a better reporting system than we had in the last version though, so it'll take a bit longer than the quick email sending that the old version doesKevan wrote:I need this feature as soon as possible otherwise I'm simply bouncing emails into the great internet space out there.. Re: SPAMCOP Report and First Alert
I don't think that FirstAlert not working at all (the report option is not present) is due to the millions of possible configuration. It's simply bad management !

Re: SPAMCOP Report and First Alert
No, it was that users reports were unreliable and often meant FirstAlert blocked too many good newsletters. We found a better mechanism other than users to keep FirstAlert populated and have spent hundreds of hours fine tuning the system so it no longer requires any user reports.ecoca wrote:I don't think that FirstAlert not working at all (the report option is not present) is due to the millions of possible configuration. Re: SPAMCOP Report and First Alert
Hi rustic dog
Can we sign up for a newsletter for MailWasher Pro?
I reckon a newsletter would be a good idea and that way those who subscribe to it can be informed as to the progress of the new features, such as Spam Cop reporting and when these have been implimented and when we can download the upgraded version..
Maybe add a link where the upgrade can be downloaded from Firetrust's website and such..
Just a suggestion..
I'm going to revert back to using the MailWasher FREE until Firetrust has resolved the issues surrounding the SpamCop reporting in MailWasher Pro and it is implimented in the next upgrade..
I still consider MailWasher Pro an excellent program and I will continue to support it and am patient enough and have faith in you guys to be able to iron out any bugs and other issues and the upgrade featuring SpamCop reporting will be relased sooner than latter..
If MailWasher Pro registered users can be informed via a newsletter I myself will subscribe.. I don't mind receiving HTML email newsletters from products and services I pay for and support and this includes receiving information regarding the software I have installed on my computer, particularly regarding upgrades..
Let me know what you and Firetrust think regarding my suggestions, rustic dog..
Cheers, man..

I'll double check with the guys about that and see about why it was removed and if we can add it back.

Re: SPAMCOP Report and First Alert
There's an RSS Newsfeed a visitor to Firetrust's web site can subscribe to via their email address but that's different to a dedicated newsletter..
I'd much prefer a dedicated newsletter which gets sent out a few times a year, say quarterly and in sepcial circumstances when the company communicates the fact they have a new product or upgrade for a particular product and a link where that upgrade can be downloaded from..
Newsletters are simple or complicated to produce and mail but best choose the simple one with simple company logo and keep the message simple and direct and less fancy the better..
The only requirement for any newsletter is a recipient can unsubscribe any time they wish - this is a reqquirement by international and European Law to stop spam.. If a legitimate company has customers and clients who sign-up for the newsletter then the newsletter is legitimate but if these people then wish to unsubscribe then you build an unsubscription link into the newsletter and everybody is happy.. If folk wish to stop receiving the newsletter then they simply unsubscribe..
Bob's your uncle and all that..
Newsletters are basically HTML emails with formatted text and embedded graphics or they can be simple ASCII text.. You can set up a newsletter to do both and then each recipient can choose how to receive their newsletter they have subscribed to..
The idea is the strike a ballance between information, style and content against memory size if email.. The smaller and more concise the better..
