Problem deleting email unknown error

Sat Jul 31, 2010 5:31 pm

I often get this when I'm deleting email in MV 2010, it just stops. If I close down MW and open it again it works fine. It alaways happens when there ar many emails on the server.

I never had this problem with MV 6

Gert

If you have pipelining enabled for deletes you could try turning that off and see if it helps. If it doesn't turn it back on and after the problem has happened again you could submit your logs to firetrust. Put a link to your post in the comments as well as a short explanation of what is going wrong and use chris as the ticket number to direct the logs to the fellow who watches over the forums.
I am not a Firetrust employee just a MW user.

It looks like, for some reason, the connection to your Treefrog mail server is closed...

<MESSAGE>SocketException - Socket Closed</MESSAGE><ADDXML><TYPE>POPDELETE</TYPE><HOST>treefrog.he.net</HOST><PORT>110</PORT>

And meant to add, your post displays your user and account details - eek

It's not closed, if I open MW 6 I can delete them without any problem. I've also tried with pipelining enabled, but the result is still the same.

Thanks for telling me about the account details ;)

Can you keep PIPELINING disabled for deletion, and next time it happens go Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter chris as the Ticket Number >> Send Logs >> and I'll take a look

Thanks

Right got the logs, it looks to be related to how MailWasher adds to the Recycle Bin prior to the deletes, it's basically taking too long.

I'll see if we can get this fixed tomorrow.

OK, here it is. Still the beta, not yet official.....

A new Beta version of MailWasher is now available 1.0.9

Note : This is not an official release, so the Automatic Updater will not pick up this new build.
There is no requirement to uninstall the old version, it will install fine over the top.

Changes Include :
Wash Mail speed improved
Added Notification option 'Play sound when error occurs'
Fix for non ASCII text not being displayed properly
Fix for Check Mail failing on some servers (Tiscali + some others)

Download Link :

I think if you change the "Store deleted mains for" to zero, in Recycle Bin >> General, stops entries to the Recycle Bin.
