Connection Error Tone

Tue Aug 03, 2010 3:47 am

There appears to be a chime emitted when MWP encounters a connection error.

For me, this occurs when my ISP is having problems so I work on tasks which aren't related to the internet.

I'd like to be able to turn off that tone, but can't find this ability in the settings.

Can someone point me in the correct direction?

Thanks.

You have to switch off "Play sound when new mail arrives" in MWP as the error beep does not have its own setting, yet.

I had turned off the new mail arrival tone when I installed MWP 2010. The connection error tone shut off apparently needs an additional setting.

Thanks for letting me know that this doesn't yet exist, so I'll discontinue my search of the settings.

Hopefully, the ISP will get its' act together. At this point, I just turn off the sound if the error tone is too distracting. I do like the Log tag turning red when there has been an error.

I think that is the generic Windows error sound that is played when MW encounters an error. It should be changeable in a future version, not sure if they are planning on an OFF switch or not but that would be good for folks with flakey connections.

I've submitted it as a suggestion.

If I wasn't out of votes I'd vote for it!
