Hi
If I run the new MW 2010.1.0.6. and MW shows emails and I put a tick in delete before running mail wash, when Windows Live Mail opens the emails I have marked for deletion are not deleted but finish up in my Inbox.
This never used to happen with MW 6.0 so am I doing something wrong?
Please advise
Many Thanks

Re: delete emails
Is WLM set to automatically download email at a schedule interval? If so turn this off and manually fetch mail into WLM after you have washed in MWP.

Re: delete emails
Sorry, I don't have access to WLM
Try looking in account settings, something like download every x mins.

Re: delete emails
Hi
I have Checked WLM and I my settings are not download at a scheduled interval.
If I get more than one email when runnng MW and say I check one email for deletion and allow the othes to be left unchecked, then all the emails including the one checked for deletion finish up in my inbox. However, If there is just one email and I check that for deletion and run mail wash then it gets deleted.
Any further advise will be most appreciated

Re: delete emails
You could try switching off pipelining for deletions in: account >> incoming >> Advanced

Re: delete emails
Pipelining is not available on IMAP so that is not the problem, you could have an issue if your IMAP provider does not follow standards properly, Gmail are one that are well know for not doing deletes properly
Some servers can do IMAP or POP3 on the same address, my fasthost servers do
It might be worth you changing to POP3 to see if it works better for you, if you don't need the extra facilities of IMAP.
Check with your ISP for the correct POP3 settings.

Re: delete emails
Sorry to keep coming back to this thread but am becoming disillusioned with MW 2010
If I run MW and it finds emails and I want to delete some before I was the mail I do the following
I click delete and it places a tick mark and then I wash mail fully expecting the items checked will be delted but alas this doesn't happen and they all finish up in my inbox.
I have just tried MW 6 and have done exactly the same as above and the checked emails are deleted before running my mail programme.
I have changed the settings to POP3 but still this contnues
Please Please what is the problem because I am getting the feeling I should have stuck with MW 6 (If it isn't broken ~~ why fix it)
Kindest regards

Re: delete emails
You might want to grab the new 1.0.10 version that just went live, click help and check for updates and it should upgrade you.
I am not a Firetrust employee just a MW user.
