Check your settings in 2010 against v6, pay particular attention to the Advanced Settings section.
I am not a Firetrust employee just a MW user.

Also be aware that some ISP's restrict (as in block) what they think may be spam from being restored.
I would suggest that you may want to check the port number compared to you email application and/or 6.x.
If none of this helps then post your ISP info, create an attempt to restore and then when the error occurs go to Help, Send Logs and use Chris as the ticket number refer to this Topic and a short explanation.
Re: Can`t restore emails
Don't know if you have multiple accounts or not but each message to be restored will use the same account that it originated from with the following exception if the original account fail then there is a means to specify a "fallback account". Settings, Recycle Bin, Restoring, "Fall Back account to restore emails".krazykanuck wrote:My ISP does not require authentication.

Re: Can`t restore emails
Below are the smtp settings for the two versions.
6.5.3 works just fine
I do have multiple accounts and they are all setup the same
Something I just noticed is that it won't let me setup a fallback account.
The dropdown box is empty.
The popup text says that only accounts with completed SMTP settings can be selected.
I can change the settings and save them so they are being stored somewhere but possibly not correctly.

Re: Can`t restore emails
Interesting, it should let you use a server if it has SMTP settings. Check the email address field under the General tab for the account....
If that's also correct, send me your logs. Go Help >> Send Support Logs >> enter chris as the Ticket Number >> Send Logs >> and I'll take a look

Re: Can`t restore emails
That was it.
I didn't realize that you had to enter the email account on the general tab.
My ISP uses the email address as the user name so I saw my email address on the incoming tab and it never occurred to me to enter anywhere else.
Thanks for your help
