MW PRO 2010 & MW 6.5

Wed Aug 04, 2010 6:41 pm

I have subscribed to MW Pro 2010 and have been running OK after I imported settings from Old version. I then Removed old version.
With a Bonus Licence I downloaded to a friend's computer and successuflly registered this new Bonus licence. He successfully imported all settings from his old version MW6.5 .
Now does he have to remove old version from his computer?
At present he is running Both versions. Sometimes mail comes through on MW2010 but majority gets into old version. Also logging to MW2010 takes ages and sometimes nothing happens. Please help

Generally speaking both MailWashers should show the same. There are of course instances where this won't happen, but a lot comes back to who the email provider is and what policies they have in place when checking the same email account at roughly the same time.

He doesn't ever have to remove the old version, it's useful to keep in sitautions just like this as he can continue using MailWasher old while we figure out what's funky on MailWasher new. The best thing to do would be to get his log files for the new MailWasher, if he goes Help >> Send Support Logs >> enters chris as the Ticket Number >> Send Logs >> I can take a look at what might be causing the long logon delays

Cheers

Thanks rusticdog. I will tell my friend not to remove MW6.5. He will be relieved as he is reluctant to part with the trusty old version which I introduced to him in 2004. He will send Support log as and when he can open New Version 2010. Kind Regards

Just make sure that you don't let them work the mail server both at the same time. Deletions become a real problem.

Hi sidewinder. Thanks for your thoughts. My friend is about to give up MW2010. He did manage to send log to chris but since he cannot even open MWPro 2010. If he clicks icon on his desktop, another icon drops down to bottom tray and nothing happens. As you pointed out there could be a problem in using MW6.5 parallel with the MW2010 and mail checking times not properly set. At present all mails are being checked by MW6.5 with no problems. How do you reset checking times? Unfortunately, he cannot access MW2010 to reset and he cannot register as Forum member to dicuss this issue. All I could say to him is "Be patient"

Remind him he can nag me as much as he wants, sometimes that's needed to provoke me as I've got a bucketload of emails in my Inbox :thumbsup
