The automatic check of my 3 accounts causes an error message saying:
Classify: Error
Subject: Failed to log in to POP3 server
Priority: High
Account: pop2.live.com
If I check the accounts manually MW works fine and I do not get this error-message. This was a misstake from the beginning. Please read this thread further on. Any explanation?

Re: Failed to log into POP3 server…
Great. We ought to display the server response in the error.
The reason is
Hotmail have a restriction of 15 minute intervals, I find it often works but sometimes not. Just increase the time between your automatic checks to 15 minutes or more......or remove the Hotmail account from the automatic checks
Thanks
Chris
The reason is
Code: Select all
-ERR login allowed only every 15 minutes
Thanks

Re: Failed to log into POP3 server…
I find this problem all the time when testing It would be nice to be able to exclude accounts from the Check All as well as the default check so that accounts like Hotmail (and I think Yahoo) need to be done individually.

I agree. I found out that it varies from 0 to 9 minutes.I find it often works but sometimes not.
How/where do I do that if I will keep it in the manual check?or remove the Hotmail account from the automatic checks

Thank you anniebrion. I have tried this, but it effects both the automatic and the manuel mailcheck.

Re: Failed to log into POP3 server…
This only stops the account from being fetched during an auto-fetch or clicking
If you do a Check All from the dropdown then ALL accounts will be fetched.Annie.......... PC details

Re: Failed to log into POP3 server…
Digging back into my memory archives I think that if you manually check one of the default accounts and there are messages downloaded into MWP then MWP will continue to include that account in the default check until the messages are disposed of .hans peter wrote:Thank you anniebrion. Re: Failed to log into POP3 server…
Thanks to all of you. Now I´m nearly happy. I use it this way: I auto-fetch 2 of my accounts and choose pop3.live.com manually (behind the Check Mail-button) before klicking. It works often

Re: Failed to log into POP3 server…
I've learned to clear the grid after I check any non-default accounts, makes it easy to be sure the manual check will be a one time thing and with the mail-cache in the new MW you don't have to download the messages again, just grab the cache copy.
I am not a Firetrust employee just a MW user.
