WARNING: Posting personal data

I have noticed people are posting Error messages that contain their personal email addresses, it is a good idea to replace these with something like [removed], as this is a public forum and is indexed by search engines like google, so the entire planet will have access to this data.

Yikes!

I hadn't noticed!
I was just copying/pasting...

TYVM for the warning.
I'll be more careful next time.

(It would defeat the purpose of MWP to have one's email addresses floating out there in cyberspace, now, wouldn't it?! ;)

No problem, it's not just you others have done the same. I just though a heads-up was needed for all those that did not know the search bots trawl this forum :)

If you keep any eye on the "Who is online" at the foot of the index then you sometimes catch a bot :)

Very prudent announcement, this one - what a shame if personal info . . . . . . . . like email IDs should be harvested from a forum dedicated to counter SPAM.

Would also like to suggest to members to audit their screenshots for personal info before submitting the same.

At least the screenshots aren't easily harvested by web crawling robots!

Still it does make sense to pay attention to just what you are posting and it isn't that hard to blur any sensitive data without altering the screenshot enough to become confusing.
