MWP2010 isn't picking up all the mail. It hangs and will go idle for hours. It has false duplicate listings of email (compare the sizes). I took a screencap of both the wew and old MWP for comparison.
Last night, MWP2010 hung/crashed and asked to send a report, which I did. I got some cryptic response about changing the ports on the email from Firetrust (which MWP2010 didn't even pick up, as seen in the screencap).
I would love to upgrade to the new Mailwasher, but right now, I'll stick with 6.5.X, which has been incredibly reliable. I purchased Mailwasherpro back in 2003 (ver 3.4) and have been a faithful user, recommending it everyone. MWP2010? Not yet. I'm in the 9th day of the trial, so there are still 21 days to decide.

Re: Hangs on checking/duplicate email lists
Since your screen caps are all from Friends my guess is that your concern is with the displayed difference in size? If that is correct, then MWP 2010 provides the ability to manage the number of lines of each message that it will download e.g. the apparent size. See Settings, General, Checking Mail, Spam Throttle. Observations are that 200 lines is a reliable setting for both evaluation purposes and reliability of the attachment indicator. If you want the ultimate protection of being sure that you can restore a full message from the recycle bin should you delete one by accident then you need to go to the current max. lines or 999. Somewhere between 80 and 100 lines is usually sufficient to classify the message once the Bayesian training has been ramped up.

Re: Hangs on checking/duplicate email lists
Double check the Settings Account listings. The import of accounts can occur from multiple sources from you other apps and can result in having the same account set up more than once. Compare the account lists and settings between 6.5 and MWP 2010.

Re: Hangs on checking/duplicate email lists
Not the problem. The email is from white-listed sources. Compare the screen caps from both programs, taken at the same time. MWP2010 is missing mail, and mislabeling mail.Sidewinder wrote:Double check the Settings Account listings. Re: Hangs on checking/duplicate email lists
Both versions of MW offer a column that shows the account the message was fetched from, if you turn that on it should help see if you are checking one account twice.
MW shouldn't hang for more than a few minutes on any account failure, once you are sure there no duplicate accounts you might want to keep an eye on that and if it happens again report it again.
If you have the port settings wrong in 2010 it isn't going to be able to get the mail, check the advanced account settings in v6 and in 2010 and make sure they all match and update 2010 so that they do.

Re: Hangs on checking/duplicate email lists
If you look at the right hand column on both, the account is listed. Ports are configured in both programs identically. Only one copy of the account is in MWP2010. I weeded that out first.

Re: Hangs on checking/duplicate email lists
Your logs you sent showed MW couldn't connect. Many of your accounts were trying to connect on port 100 not using SSL, though the Yahoo Small Business recommends using SSL and port 995.

What I am posting here was when i got up this morning and first started both Mailwasher programs. It's fairly routine to see a mismatch between the old and new MW programs, and the older one is more accurate.
I sent the logs as requested.

That was last night when MWP2010 stopped responding altogether and was restarted. It generated the crash report automatically and I let it.rusticdog wrote:Your logs you sent showed MW couldn't connect. Re: Hangs on checking/duplicate email lists
Try and switch off PIPELINING for all the accounts, under Settings >> Accounts >> Incoming >> Advanced.
Maybe your ISP or some kind of email scanner can't handle it, but this version of MailWasher is getting kicked off after timing out.

Re: Hangs on checking/duplicate email lists
Done. I turned that off on all the accounts that had that option. I can monitor and see what's happening. It seems it has problem with the formatting of certain messages, since the screenies show the "duplicates" have different file sizes that match other "missing" email with the same size. I am unsure why it won't see some email, like the one that your site sent me, though.

To avoid the forum trimming your images post them here directly (upload attachment tab under the message area) instead of using the image button.
I'm glad to see Rusticdog is on top of the other problem and hopefully it will get sorted out.

Edit: I see the attachments stretch the screen a bit.
Re: Hangs on checking/duplicate email lists
Thanks for the tip. I'm too used to forums that don't have the capacity to host their own images, so I usually upload them to my domain and post the image. I'll go back and edit the original post.stan_qaz wrote:To avoid the forum trimming your images post them here directly (upload attachment tab under the message area) instead of using the image button.
