Ok, having just had to re-install the hard drive (again) I dug out the MW 2010 download, installed, no worries, found the key from last time, yes it for the new version and tried to active the program, no joy, I'm getting an error of "Unknown error occurred during activation"

Any one want to spread some light?

Is your firewall stopping the connection to the activation server? Port 4088

Sometimes the server is a bit cranky about activation, try putting in the code and sending it off then give MW 10 minutes and check your status again.

If that doesn't do it someone from Firetrust should be able to sort it out.

Still unable to activate, anyone any ideas?

I'd say e-mail your details to support at firetrust.com and tell them your problem, they should be able to sort it out, the one firetrust forum guy is about swamped with other issues right now or he'd have been on this.

It's working for me (I tested using one of your licenses) are you sure you haven't enabled your Firewall on your router perhaps if you know your software Firewall should be allowing this

ok, having just reinstalled EVERYTHING again still find I'm unable to activate MW, tried with the software firewall off and on, also with the router one off and on and now beginning to pull hair out What am I doing wrong?

Email me on [email protected] with the License key you want to use, I'll register my copy manually and send you the file necessary to place so MailWasher will recognise this. It's not ideal, but at interim stop gap until we get the problem sorted.
