Emails deleted

Sat Mar 29, 2025 4:30 am

I've deleted MWP and re-installed a few times but it has not solved the problem of when deleting emails in MWP after washing, they also are being deleted in Outlook. After deleting washed emails they disappear from the recycle bin which is when they also disappear from Outlook. I haven't altered any settings which would delete emails automatically both in Outlook and MWP. Also MWP will sometimes get old emails which have already been downloaded. Anyone else had this problem?

Yes, the likely problem here is that you have the email account setup as IMAP in Outlook there.

You'll need to either:

A.) change this to a POP type account in Outlook, if IMAP, it'll do the following:

- always download the emails automatically,
- never remove any mail from the mail server
- If you delete an email from webmail, Outlook OR MWPro, it'll be deleted from all 3.

Easiest way to do this is to setup a new email account in Outlook, but this time ensure it is POP3 type, with auto mail checking and leave on server disabled.

Once you have it all up and running, delete the IMAP account from Outlook.

------------ OR ----------------

B.) Change this to a IMAP type account in MWpro also, (if not already) and set MWPro to not download read emails so you won't need to delete them.

You can change this within MWpro under Settings>>Accounts, click your email account, click the Incoming tab, and beside "Server Type:" select IMAP in place of POP.

Click save to save changes.

Then click Advanced, and ensure that, "Download read emails" is not ticked there.

Save changes again if any were made.

Then, after you read the emails in your email program, they'll disappear from MW's view upon it's next mail check.
