If I add a sender marked as spam to my friend list the status still say "spam" and it doesn't change to "friend" until I restart MW.

This is working for me, what method are you using to add the sender to your Friends List ?

Might pay to just wait for the next release (late this week?) I'm running a different version than you. It's possible we've made some alteration that I corrects this, though I don't recall this being a problem in 1..0.10 either

It is strange, the grid turns green the sender is added to my friends list, but the status is still spam and it's marked for deletetion.rusticdog wrote:Might pay to just wait for the next release (late this week?) If I clear message list and do a check mail it looks OK. The status is "friend" and it's not marked for deletion

Re: Change sender marked as spam to my friend list
I have one account on my laptop at work with Win XP and another account on my home PC with Win 7 Pro. I get the same problem on both.
Perhaps I should tell you that I've created a filter called spam and that's why these emails are marked as spam. And that filter only has one rule "sender is not on my friends list". I don't know if this makes any different.

Re: Change sender marked as spam to my friend list
Yes, that changes everything.
The problem is that Filters don't re-evaluate over messages, so when you add to the Friends List, MailWasher is still giving that Filter precedence, though we need to think about this as it's not behaving in an ideal way.
The quick fix would be to make it when you add a sender to your Friends List, delete is unchecked no matter what any Custom Filter is set. Though that would still read 'Spam' as placed by your Filter.

Wouldn't the better solution be to trigger a filter re-evaluation on any Save to Blacklist or Friends lists.rusticdog wrote:Yes, that changes everything.

No, that would be far too slow, we need to be a lot smarter than that long term.

Re: Change sender marked as spam to my friend list
OK but any time you alter the FL or BL and the user has used the Spam Rule filters there is then a different problem created e.g. how many other messages in the grid should be altered as a result of the change to the lists and filter utilization of the lists?rusticdog wrote:No, that would be far too slow, we need to be a lot smarter than that long term.

I thought we were going to get a Reload button that would re-evaluate the entries already fetched.

Re: Change sender marked as spam to my friend list
Yeah, though re-evaluating all emails in the grid isn't really the issue, and again that's slow. It's just the select ones that are being adjusted by the Friends or Blacklist additions.

Thanks for your reply, I'll leave it as it is and wait for the programmers to do their jobrusticdog wrote:Yeah, though re-evaluating all emails in the grid isn't really the issue, and again that's slow. It's just the select ones that are being adjusted by the Friends or Blacklist additions.
