Hi,
I have been running MW6 and have recently purchased a new computer with Windows 7 Proffesional and Microsoft Office 2010.
Having set the new computer up I downloaded MW2010 in order to see what it was like, I previously used MW6.
When setting up MW2010 it states to de activate the automatic send/receive in Outlook but in the Outlook that came with Office 2010 I cannot find the tools button in order to go into options, Mail Set Up, send/receive in order to de-select the schedule an automatic send/receive.
I can find it easily in Outlook 2003 installed on another computer
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Doug

Re: MW Pro and Office 2010
Hi,
Thanks for the post - and while no consolation, I'm often lost with Office Ultimate 2007 programs. Looking prettier does not always translate into better usability / productivity and often comes with hidden costs (like bloatware / slow loads / memory hogging etc). I much preferred the XP and even 2003 versions - now I waste ages looking for simple things that are placed in odd places (odd - to me at least).
As a sidebar comment, I think it unwise (too strong??) practice to let Outlook (any PC based email client) automatically download and send emails - especially if you use MWP. Nothing is perfect and people are reporting issues with MWP2010 so until we have addressed most of the concerns, there is a risk it might fail. I also use B9 (Benign) which is simply an amazing product - does what it does well, minimal fuss, and removes potential hazards from incoming emails BEFORE they hit your inbox. Can't recommend it highly enough. That product alone has saved me hundreds of hours of system recovery over the years - genius.
Assuming that you have appropriate AV (anti-virus) protection, you *might* be OK to download emails automatically. But as for sending emails automatically, I can't tell you how many times I've mis-keyed and sent a draft (angry / poorly written / crap loaded) email to people and then had to eat buckets of humble pie.
Unrelated to your issue - personal comments only.
Out of curiosity, how do you find Office 2010? Is it worth the upgrade - as in, is it 'better' (as defined by your requirements / needs)?
Cheers
