I often "switch user" out of my admin account but leave the computer on because there is another user. I just installed the new version of Pro, and it looks to me that the periodic default check does not take place if my account is switched out; when I log back in, no new posts appear until I hit the check-mail icon. Is this by design? The old version did check mail even tho my account was switched out. Running Vista Home Premium.

Re: Checking mail when switched out
Hi Peter
Yes this is by design. If I recall correctly, if MailWasher is set to check at startup, when you return to the other account it should fire a check automatically, even though it technically hasn't started.

Thanks....
It doesn't look like the default check fires when I return from being switched out...I'll see if it does when I log back in from a logout.

Re: Checking mail when switched out
Well, MWP doesn't fire the startup check when switching back in, but it does when logging in from a logout. I guess I can live with that....

We can alter that behaviour if you think it would be better ?preader wrote:Well, MWP doesn't fire the startup check when switching back in, but it does when logging in from a logout. I guess I can live with that....

Re: Checking mail when switched out
Well, seems like it would be consistent to treat both situations the same way. Actually, what would be cool would be if MWP stayed running (and checking mail) during a switchout (but not a logout). That way, when switching back in, you'd immediately see your incoming mail rather than waiting for the ISP to download the headers...

Re: Checking mail when switched out
We'll do the first, as I know that will just be a quick logic alteration. The second requires some more serious thought given we have both User Interfaces and the Engine running as separate processes.preader wrote:Well, seems like it would be consistent to treat both situations the same way.
