How can I change the colours so I can read the screen?
I'm using Windows 7, 22" monitor at 1680x1050 and every other application dispalys ok. Mailwasher 2010 fonts colours are so bad they look out of focus and very difficult to read!! What is supposed to be black is a bad grey with fuzzy pixels which are even inconsistent within a character. How do I change the font/colour scheme to something that I can read?

Try the settings in the Quick Display (top right of MW) to zoom the text out a bit bigger to start.
Second give the different fonts available a look here:

Tried all that - I see your inserted picture of your screen is also fuzzy! Look at the word Minimize - the ini part definitely does not have clear definition!

Stan's SC looks fine on my system. Yours looks like the text etc. is more than 200% of the normal size. My guess is that you have the Quick Display, Font Zoom Slider set close to 200%.

Re: How can I change the colours so I can read the screen?
Don't try to compare my screen caps to yours, there is no way to do it fairly. My Windows box sits under a counter with nothing hooked to it but a KVM switch, Ethernet and power, the screen capture is taken from a Linux box using a VNC window to display the Windows screen. The windows resolution is 1680x1050 and that looks horrible using the KVM to put it on my 1920x1200 monitor, in the VNC window it looks a good deal better but that is after compression, a network hop and decompression.
If you are not at your monitor's native resolution that may be part of your problem, try switching to that and see how MW looks then.

Re: How can I change the colours so I can read the screen?
Stan_qaz, I am not trying to criticise your screen caps or resolution - after 30+ years in the IT business from being an 8088 assembler programmer, through writing communications device drivers in C, and signature capture and verification systems for banks, through to my current IT consultancy role, I do understand differences in hardware, etc.
And Sidewinder, no my zoom factor was at 100% not 200%.
I had tried every combination that I could within the application to no avail.
My original question was:
"I'm using Windows 7, 22" monitor at 1680x1050 and every other application displays ok. Mailwasher 2010 fonts colours are so bad they look out of focus and very difficult to read!! What is supposed to be black is a bad grey with fuzzy pixels which are even inconsistent within a character. How do I change the font/colour scheme to something that I can read?"
Note the words ' every other application displays ok'. I have even loaded it onto my laptop with the same 'fuzzy' output in Mailwasher, and all other apps are ok. I have even had a second opinion on both systems, just to prove that it is not my eye-sight!
Maybe this question is for the developers.... do any of them read the forums?

Under Quick Display, try using the 'Flat' theme instead of 3D Theme, that will use Arial as the main grid font which could be easier to read emails in the grid.

Don't you just love it when people do not read emails correctly!! I am sure I wrote "I had tried every combination that I could within the application to no avail. " In fact I know I did, because I just copied this from my post!

I guess you don't have any other applications using Windows Presentation Foundation & .net then.
Have you tried the settings for your graphics card?
This is a common problem for WPF

Hurray for Anniebrion!
At last an explanation and a very useful link to the root causes, and for proving that I am not going mad!
Let's now hope that Micro$oft will actually do something to please their users!!
Maybe I'll switch back to MW 6.3 in the meantime.
Many thanks.

Re: How can I change the colours so I can read the screen?
On my system I don't get blurry font with MWP2010 so the WPF is not always the reason. This is why I suggested you look at the Graphic driver settings.
I do have the Calibri font installed that might make a difference.
