Blacklist not working after update to V15

Blacklist not working after update to V15

I seem to have a problem in that the blacklist appears not to be working after updating to V15. I put my own email address into the blacklist and ensure it is not in my friends list then send an email to myself. It was not sent to the Recycle bin and not listed in the Inbox as blacklisted. I was sure it had been working so I installed V10 on my netbook and repeated. It worked and was automatically blacklisted and sent to the Recycle bin. I the installed V15 over the top, keeping the same settings. I sent the same email and this time it was not blacklisted. Only difference was the update. Any ideas??

First what is shown in the Status column for that message.
Second, right click on the message header in the grid and select Show Evaluation details then list the scoring for that message and post them back here.

I can confirm this problem, I have not had any blacklist trigger since v1.0.15 and searching the recycle bin show emails that should have triggred the blacklist filter I have set.

I have reported this in the Beta forum as well.

Well how special! Mine was not working either, I had cleared it out for the .15 update and re-imported it from v6 but never bothered to test it.

Heck of a note for rusticdog to get told about early on Sunday morning, he'll have all day to work out just how to drop it on the programmers. Gonna cost them more than beer this time!

What with this and the buggering up of IMAP entries in the Recycle bin, the programmer is going to be purchasing a lot of beers :) The programmer should be able to get a bulk buy discount :mrgreen:

It says something when I have a several hundred entry blacklist that has suddenly stopped working and the other tools do well enough that I never noticed that it had quit. One more indication that the move to the weighting system was a good one.

I'm thinking the programmers should just deliver a nice keg to your house on Friday, if they pay up what this blunder is worth you'll need poured out of a taxi and into your front yard if you hit a bar!

Re above, As I implied above , nothing is listed in the status column.

As I understand it, the spam score should be irrelevant if it is a blacklisted address otherwise what is the [point of a blacklist. However it is evaluated as +50, undetermined which is why it is not affected by the Bayesian Filter (quite correctly in this case as I made sure the contents were not spam so as to ensure the filters did not work).


It is somewhat of a relief to find that others have the same problem as there is always the chance that I had done something strange or my machines had something particular which prevented it working.

Also feel for you Rusty. No peace for you, on a Sunday too.

By default Blacklist just adds a figure to the overall spam total, you can however create a filter to make blacklists behave like they did in v5/6, doing it this way gives everyone more options.

I have a filter that sets for delete and mark as spam if in blacklist and not in friends list.

Hi,

Is there a solution? My filter "AutoDeleteSpam" (all blacklisted) does not work with v15 either any more. :no

The beta testers were just given the new version that has this fix. If nothing goes horribly wrong I can post a link to this version....I'll wait a few hours though as every time I've posted a beta version in the public forum there has been something horribly wrong with it :oops:

Hi

Also had a problem with the "Not to me" filter. I have several email accounts on different domains. The set up seems to create this filter based on the account email addresses it finds during installation. These are of the form "If to or cc does not contain """" plain text) It creates a specific filter if only one account is on the domain (ie [email protected]"). If there are more (ie [email protected] , [email protected]) it creates a filter in the form *@test.co.uk". I noticed that an email addressed to me correctly ([email protected]) and not spam, was sent to the Recycle Bin with the annotation "Not to me" so I checked the filter. I found that there was an entry for *@domain1.co.uk in the filter and the filter was active. I also found that the filter parameter was set to "any" instead of "all". Surely this is incorrect and it should be set to "all" ie it must make the email spam if it is not addressed to any one from all the listed addresses in the filter. I set it to "all" but it had no effect.

Can anyone advise if wild cards are still allowed in this version whilst the setting is "plain text".
