Problem backing-up userfiles

I've been using the new MwPro for a week or so now and I've hit a big problem for me.
I use an application called "Syncback" to backup my config and also to duplicate it on my netbook when I travel, it compares files and only copies those that have been changed.
The problem is the recycle bin, in 6.54 it was one big file (trash.rot13?), now I have the crypto folder with nearly 5000 separate files in it and syncback takes a couple of hours to go through and compare them all.
I think this might force me back to 6.54 unless anyone can suggest a solution.

I use "Allway Sync" and this takes Approx.
1 minute to back up my Thunderbird emails/Usenet and my Mailwasher Pro userfiles.
Does your sync application check the contents of the files? This would slow it down a lot
BTW, I have nearly
6,000 files in my crypto folder, this number can go into the 10s of thousands.

I wouldn't bother comparing the files, is there not a way you can set it to just overwrite ?

Allway Sync compares the files last change timestamps but not contents, it only takes a couple of minutes to sync my 91GiB Games folder when there is a mojor update to the files causing many GiB to need syncing.
The slow speed points towards Alan's Sync application checking the contents of each and every file.

Syncback checks the last-modified date of the files.
The problem seems to be backing-up to a network drive, if I backup to a local (e.g. USB stick) it's reasonably fast. I'll do some experimentation with the settings.
As a side question, should I shut down MwPro before doing the backup?
6.54 used to write-out a load of stuff to disk on shutdown so I always closed it before running a backup. Maybe the new version keeps everything on disk?

I've not had to shut MWP2010 yet before performing an automated backup, the files are backed up OK with Allway Sync and Acronis TrueImage

You may wish to have it shutdown MailWasher, though I don't think it's required. The only file offhand I can think that might need a close first is the MWP.db3 file
