Editing the Language Filter..how?

The Language Filter Description reads; "Currently set for many non latin languages. You can edit this filter to your own preference."
My question is, how do I add languages to this filter? The Help file reads, "Language Filters; If a Language filter is chosen, choose from the list of languages which to match." ....... not a great deal of info there...........................

Thanks

Thanks, but I'm asking how to add a language. I understand how to check and un-check the existing languages. For example, how would I add Spanish to the list?

You can only select from the ones offered in the pre-configured filter. You could suggest adding Spanish and any other languages you need and Firetrust might be willing to do that.

If you want to add your own filter for Spanish you'd add it like any other filter and set the rules to look for the codes that are used to decode Spanish text. There are filter examples at the top of the forum to get you started, if you have a problem post a header from one of the messages (xxx out addresses) and someone could likely help you with it.

You can just add a new rule to the same filter. Set it for Entire Message, Contains, Regex and put the unique Spanish characters separated by the | character. Here is an example of the Cyrillic vowels э|ы|я|ё|ю|и

I'm not fond of that method due to the time it takes to scan the entire message for every message but it does work.

Spanish uses Latin1 doesn't it, so you couldn't identify by the full character set without marking most european languages.
