I just started getting this error message a few days ago. Every time I open MS-Outlook from MW 7.15.33 I can't send an email. I get the error message "there is a problem writing to Outlook data file (archive.pst). Your computer hard drive might be out of space ..." My hard drive still has 250+ GB free.

If I open MS-Outlook (not 365) directly I can send email messages. I'm not sure why this started happening. I've been using the pay version of MW since 2002.

Possibly when MW opens it is using a different .pst file/outlook profile?

Check the shortcut that opens Outlook normally, (the one that works OK) and see if it opens the same profile as when opening via MW...?

Another option is that instead of choosing Outlook from the list of email programs in MW, instead use the shortcut target text from the desktop or other shortcut that works as per normal...

To do this, first create a shortcut to Outlook on your desktop (if not already there), as below:

Right click on the Outlook.exe file, and click More Options >> Send to >> Desktop (create shortcut).

Then right click on that shortcut, click Properties>>Shortcut tab, and copy the Target field into MWPro under Mailwasher Pro>>Settings>>General>>Washing Mail click the email program button and select,

"Use other application"

And paste in the target text you copied earlier.

Click Save to save changes.

I did what you mentioned above and I'm still getting the same error message when opening Outlook from MW. When I open Outlook from the shortcut I have set up everything works fine.

I'm using Outlook 2013 and the data file is in OST format. I have an archive of old emails I want to keep that is in PST format. I'm not sure why MW has decided to look at the PST file rather than the OST file.

yes, the weird thing is that MW does not look at any file, it just opens Outlook (now exactly like your desktop shortcut does) then Outlook opens whatever file it likes.... so I cannot think of any reason Outlook chooses to open a different file when MW opens the shortcut.... possibly a AV or firewall issue? it wont allow MW to launch another program for some reason so Outlook defaults to the old pst file....?
