Like the title says, I get "Your software is up to date"
I'm running 1.0.15
Sent support logs tagged with "chris"
I'm now downloading it via the link in the sticky post.

Re: "Check for updates" not detecting 1.0.19
Worked fine here, at least on the DT (will try the LT a bit later).
It even closed MWP during the install and I didn't even have to pause protection in KIS2011 (which can be a bit "twitchy" even about programs in its "trusted" list).
(I had had to manually d/l and install 1.0.15.)
Looks like the updater bug is at least partially solved.
Thanks to the programmers!

Re: "Check for updates" not detecting 1.0.19
Until one of the experts shows up, you might wish to send Chris (aka RusticDog) your support logs.
Go to the top toolbar: help > send support logs and follow the instructions. It only takes a second or two.
Just put "Chris" where it asks for a ticket number, & provide a brief description of the problem and, if possible, a link back to this thread.
(FYI, there seem to be at least 2 threads going on this topic, so he may end up merging this one with another....)
The updater didn't work for me, either, in 1.0.10, and I had to install manually on both computers. So, the current build is at least an improvement for some of us.
I am just a (longtime) home user, not a beta-tester and certainly not a computer expert.
But the only "standard" things that come to mind are to be sure your OS and especially IE (!!!) are completely updated, since many programs (I assume MWP?) use IE for updating.
And I suppose it might relate to your IE settings?
(I find that with some programs, I have to either tick or untick the "automatically detect settings" button in IE to get their program updater to work...)
Anyway, we'll see what the experts have to say -- I'm sure they'll get you squared away promptly!

They really need to tweak the updater so that it warns unless it has been able to make the check to make any firewall problems obvious.

Re: "Check for updates" not detecting 1.0.19
I've installed .19 now by downloading the file manually.
The updater failed to detect the new version on my main PC and my netbook, both running W7.
It wasn't stopped by my firewall, that pops up a warning when it blocks anything and it kept quiet.

Re: "Check for updates" not detecting 1.0.19
There is no blocking of updater.exe and viewing the updates.txt file is not a problem. Also there is a updates.aiu in the updates directory whose contents are identical to updates.txt from the website.Sidewinder wrote:See if you can read this file in your browser.

Always the same result.
And please don't tell me that it is my security software. Everything else works just fine on that front.
And, even if that is an issue, as someone else has also said, telling me that the software is up to date when it cannot connect to the outside world to check is less than helpful.

Re: "Check for updates" not detecting 1.0.19
I know this won't help the folks still having issues, but the updater worked fine just now on my LT, as well.
In fact, I was prompted that updates were available as soon as I opened the application.
So, at least for me, it is working properly on both my Win7/64 DT and my Win7/32 LT, which run different security suites.
I hope the others do get their issues resolved.
If it's not security software (as I suspect it might be -- I got prompts from Webroot ISE to allow a few processes that didn't seem to bother even persnickety KIS2011 earlier), then it could relate to IE settings, perhaps?
(Even if FF or another browser is the default, does MWP use IE for updates? Just asking...)
Thanks for ongoing improvements to the program!

"Check for updates" unable to connect with server in any of several attempts. Downloaded 1.0.19 from the link on the forum post. Post announcing 1.0.19 said updates problem was fixed. Obviously, it has not been fixed. Post requested feedback if problem persists. The problem definitely persists.
