Hi,
I' trying MailWasher 2010 - it looks very good, but... I have a little problem... In the older version of this software was possible to set, blacklisted mails was deleted immediately (not manually). I can't find this setting in 2010 version... Is it possible?
Thanx

Add a Filter, pick Spam Tool Rule, Sender is on my Blacklist then go to Actions, Override Delete and set it to Automatic Delete.Adjan wrote:Hi,

But it isn't simple for the beginner, to do it by this way, my suggestion is to do this possibility by any better way...
Thanks in advance,

EDIT: It works! My 70% off coupon for Viagra was deleted automatically!

OK, I did it and, now, I'm waiting for any blacklisted email...Sidewinder wrote: Add a Filter, pick Spam Tool Rule, Sender is on my Blacklist then go to Actions, Override Delete and set it to Automatic Delete.

Re: [SOLVED] Delete immediately
I think they are trying to make it more difficult than it was in v6 as autodeletion based on the blacklist alone is not as safe as using the combined tool approach that 2010 uses. The firetrust folks put it there for folks willing to take the risk but wanted it out of the way enough that new users wouldn't think it was a good idea.
Also the autodelete keeps your bad mail from being trained reducing the overall ability of MW to detect spam.

Delete immediately TOO HARD
Delete immediately via a filter TOO HARD at present
if you insist then at least give a FILTER option from Right Mouse with some fields filled in
especially as MWP653 previous versions gave several option to delete immedialely - eg First Alert
at least I could "set and forget" previous versions
I'm trying really hard to like this MWP2010 on WIN7 box
but if the user doesn't open MWP2010 before their POP3 mail client then nothing is achieved
50% of my Perth clients now have iPhones so get email almost immediately
MWP653 on XP keeps drawing me back
have not tried MWP653 on Win7 box yet (will have to research the reason for re-write)
MWP2010 seems to want to be a ANOTHER mail client (otherwise why differentiate between IMAP & POP3)
perhaps make it an add-in for Outlook
plus give the ability to move emails between IMAP accounts

With regards to IMAP and POP you *must* differentiate between them as they are entirely different protocols. Old MailWasher and almost all email clients we came across require you to actually remove the account and add it back if you want to chnage it between POP and IMAP, but in a program like MailWasher this isn't required and thus we simply have it as a selection.
Re: Delete immediately TOO HARD
It doesn't have to be a filter, you could enable AutoDelete and simply 'weight' the different Spam Tools to your own preference.med wrote:Delete immediately via a filter TOO HARD at present

to replicate MWP653 and immediately delete all First Alert warnings
in Spam Ratings set First Alert to be -200 and AutoDelete to be -200
Unfortunately Rustdog is fighting on all fronts - Feel like a sniper when I read some of the April filter postings (and that's just one battle)
The more posts I read the more I wonder where this program will fit in the retail market
Would find it hard to justify on each on my clients workstations (Smartphone clients with IMAP and Exchange connectors rarely use an email client)
Win7 does not have email client so rely on IT pros for advice (I still think Outlook Express is best client around on a number of levels)
So the home user will want an "out of the box" solution, MWP2010 could do this with combined with ISP webmail or Gmail - so how to replace Outlook Icon with preferred icon ?
Delete immediately via Filter and Spam ratings

Thanks to Rustydogfor pointing me in right direction. So eg :rusticdog wrote:It doesn't have to be a filter, you could enable AutoDelete and simply 'weight' the different Spam Tools to your own preference.
