Whaaaat? Can't use my 9 year old 291 character Registration

:no

Oh well, we had a good run with the original MW, but truthfully not all the features worked (restoring deleted mails etc) and for quite long periods it wouldn't check my mailbox without coming back with server/connection errors.

The new version is easily worth the upgrade fee and even the registration key is nice and short this time! Everything now works as it should, no glitches whatever and smooth as a shaved rat :thumbsup

Hower, please please Mr Bolton, can you fix the intial program load up speed pretty please? :help

It drives me nuts in the mornings and takes up to 3 minutes on some occasions (yes, I have downloaded the upgrades and turned off all unecessary resources) :cry

Top product except for that and nice that now there are no extra fees to use it properly. Would be a bit annoyed if long term users like many here would have to pay the full whack next year, after all, didn't we help with the development just a leedle bit?

Greetings from the UK in the middle of a Summer Coldwave.. :bow

The initial loading is a pain, not a lot you can easily do about it yourself other than run a disk defragment. If you are low on RAM another stick can help and it is pretty cheap to add.

Load time is currently on the list to be done. FT is aware.

Also add a space then -nosplash to the program call to get it out of your face.

In comparison to MW 6.5.4, the MW 2010 start-up time is infuriating - but, 3 minutes is an unusually loooooong wait-time.

OK, quick update since my whinge regarding load up time. It's definitely a RAM/Resources issue. I have XP with 1 gb RAM (veeery veeery sloooow) and laptop with W7 & 4gb RAM and there are no issues whatever with the later setup. Conclusion obviously has to be that MW has taken the resource hungry programming route, still, with XP now fading out (shame - it was a great OS) I suppose it doesn't really matter until the next quantum jump in hardware capability that is..

ALSO...... :scratch

Having trouble importing 2nd email account from Thunderbird that shares same IN/OUT data as the one that DOES work but with different email adress obviously. Tried manually installing (as opposed to auto detecting) details but MW refuses to acknowledge 2nd address and throws up an error log during server test utility. Both accounts work fine in TBird and the old MW worked fine with both.

Any ideas?

A 1GB system you'd certainly notice it. If you're using a heavy security suite, a heavy browser like Firefox and a few small utilities you're probably looking at being at 70% capacity....add in the wear and tear of a few years use, fragmented HDD, it's all going to impact. That said, we have improvements to make too :)

Thanks for your quick reply. I will submit a log as you suggest when I next fire up the lippy toppo. By the way, I notice I'm now a 'Rattled Rabbit' but in honour of Firetrust's geographical origins, should I not be simply a "Slighty Worried Sheep?"
