Does anyone know how to IMPORT a specific Outlook contacts list without importing other friends lists
We are trialling this program but it is importing 600 contacts from other sources, where we want it to IMPORT only 300 contacts from a single list in OUTLOOK 2010. (OUTLOOK has only one contacts list)
Thanks for any help - and if I am missing something obvious; a gentle pointer would be appreciated

Unfortunately there's no way to limit the import to only a certain program. We are in the process of adding expiry options into the lists, so over time if you don't receive email from these contacts they would remove automatically remove from the lists.
Maybe we could look at setting which programs to import from, but it will take some time before it's included in a new version.

OK Thanks for the quick reply
This is not a deal breaker of course; but - Yep - it would be convenient to specify the import parameters
Cheers

Re: Import a specific Outlook contact list as FRIENDS LIST
Would you be able to advise me where, precisely, MW collects the contact data from (for the Friends List)
I only have ONE Outlook 2010 data file containg contacts, but MW is apparently importing contacts from a customer's contact file that I ran six months ago (as a test) and immediately deleted it (MW is, also, correctly importing my existing data file)

I could send you the prototype program, you just run the EXE and select which email program to import from and it will list the details, both the location and the addresses and names....
Let me know if you want this.

Don't you love those old tests cropping up...when I select to import email accounts MailWasher detects about 60, 90% are old tests in various email programstophawk wrote:Would you be able to advise me where, precisely, MW collects the contact data from (for the Friends List)

Re: Import a specific Outlook contact list as FRIENDS LIST
BINGO !!!!!
Thanks for the file
It led me to the solution.....
Previous data files (L O N G since deleted) have their Contacts et al cached at the following address
C:\Users\MY_NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamCache\Stream_Autocomplete_0_E288BD9F91D3EB45AF3B91F7861B893A.dat
This is an AutoComplete list....
... where the .dat file(s) is/are unique - (I had many - but they are, of course, date stamped leading you to delete the correct .dat files)
Hey !! I am supposed to know this stuff already, so, many thanks for helping me get up to speed
Once again - many thanks for staying with me on this issue - which isn't really a Mailwasher problem

Re: Import a specific Outlook contact list as FRIENDS LIST
On a slightly different note; when I rebuild the system (which I would expect to do every few weeks) can i save out the MailWasher settings and history etc so I don't have to start over?
(Similar to saving out the .pst in Outlook)
Cheers

Re: Import a specific Outlook contact list as FRIENDS LIST
Everything you'll need is in Help >> User Files.... all the other files needed are common and created on install.
