I'm using MWP 2010 1.0.15 for some time now. I marked lots of e-mails as spam and/or added them to my blacklist. Still they appear as possible spam. In MWP 6.51, which is still running on my pc, they appaear as spam! For exemple e-mails who come from [email protected].
Is there any reason for this?
Thanks for your reactions.

Re: Spam and blacklist
v6 stops testing tools when one tool triggers a rating, MWP2010 takes all tools into consideration before it rates an email.

Re: Spam and blacklist
So I would say that MWP 2010 is better than V6. But on the contrary, emails from a domain who is in my blacklist appear as good or possible spam!

Re: Spam and blacklist
Settings >> Spam Tools >>> Spam Ratings >> Blacklist
Change the value nearer -200, if that is not enough you can also create a simple filter with a "Spam Tool Rule" = "Sender is on my blacklist" and add even more to the spam score and even dictate the deletion behaviour.

The new MailWasher only has Good or Spam, so not sure what the Possible Spam is. But what' you're seeing is a contradiction where the Learning thinks the email is good, the Blacklist says otherwise. If you keep correcting MailWasher in the Classify column as required it'll get better

Re: Spam and blacklist
I'm sorry, you're right it there is no possible spam anymore. But why isn't it marked as blacklist when the sender is blacklisted? Or as spam even after a few weeks of marking the sender as spam?

Re: Spam and blacklist
Go to the View menu and select Side Bar this will show you the Spam values for each tool so you can see why the spam total is not coming out >+49

I don't understand what you're trying to tell me. I didn't change anything in the default configuration, so you would say that it should work properly.

Re: Spam and blacklist
I'm telling you to display the Spam scores for the spam tools so you can see what is determining the ratings.
As i already mentioned above, reading this might help: http://forum.firetrust.com/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=7214

Re: Spam and blacklist
I read the advised topic and understand now a bit how it all works. Now I have set al the Spam Ratings at -200. And even then emails from senders/domains in my blacklist won't appear as blacklisted. I stll can't understand why.

If the Status doesn't show as Blacklisted, what does it say when you are sure the address is on the Blacklist ?Colombe wrote:I read the advised topic and understand now a bit how it all works. I downloaded the latest version and we will see if it's will working properly now. By the way my configuration is set on checking new versions every 2 days. I didn't get a message about this new version .19! Perhaps a suggestion for .2?

They are looking at the updater it has some issues. Meanwhile if you subscribe to that topic (link at bottom of the topic) you 'll get an e-mail on each new release. Well if nothing eats your e-mail you'll get it...
