Auto-deleting filtered mail

I have tried to edit the "Language" filter to auto-delete those messages it finds. It won't let me sve it ("There is already a filter by that name"). So I created a new one from scratch, usingthe languages I specified. Set to Auto-delete and saved with a new name.

Although the guilty mails are appropriately marked, they still must be manually deleted.

What am I missing?

Once you change a filter to Auto-delete you must clear the Inbox (Press C then Y) then do another fetch, this will then trigger the changes within the amended filter.

Not sure why you have to manually set delete as this should be done automatically after the filter amendment :scratch

Did you remember to set the Override on the Action Tab to Auto Delete for the new filter. If so then close MWP and reopen and see it works.

It is set to Override Delete, but it does not perform the specified action. Might it have something to do with the Spam Score slider?

Here are your choices, the Override Delete is a pull down arrow to select the action you want.

I have "Auto Delete this mail" selected, but it doesn't do that.

Does the name of the new Filter appear in the Status column?

There may be a problem with communicating with your account. Go to Help, Send Support Logs add a short description of the problem, reference this topic and put Chris in the ticket number.

If you leave the delete tick mark set and then do a wash is the message removed from the server?

Also advise who do you have for your mail service?

The message does delete properly when I wash. The tick mark does appear.

Also, other filters that I have set up do auto delete properly.

My e-mail is a pretty plain vanilla POP service, not one of the big ISPs.

Sending he tickeet and Logs to Chris.

Thanks for the help.

One other thing to try is to delete both of the Language filters e.g. the original one and the new one with a different name. Restart MWP and then create a new filter to see if that is the problem.
