Can't update Version 2010 1.0.15
I am a LONG time user of MailWasher Pro ... I came to the forum because MailWasher Pro 2010 'drove me.' I needed to see if others find it very buggy ... I see an update is available but when I check for Updates, the message is "Your software is up to date." So ... I'm posting! Your help will be appreciated.

Look at the top topic in this forum there is a link to download v1.0.19. Download the file and then execute it and it will do the update.

Thanks. I did see that link but didn't want to take a chance. I just updated my antivirus without uninstalling the existing and had an issue. So, I assume I don't need to uninstall MailWasher Pro ... just download the file and execute.

Many thanks.
Also posted to indicate the Update feature isn't working. MW requested feedback in their announcement.

They worked on the update a bit for .19 but there may be more needing done, you can subscribe (link at bottom of topic) to the new version topic and get an e-mail letting you know it is available. Give the updater a shot at it (from the help menu) and if it still misses post back so the firetrust folks know more work is needed.

You will have to Subscribe to the Forum or just check back periodically and look at the top of the forum.
The topic itself gets removed and a new put in its place so the subscribe will not likely work.
The auto update function was fixed in .19 so you should get a pop up notice when the new one goes live.

There may be an issue with the subscribe working if rusticdog is deleting the old post and creating a new one but it is worth a try. Even if it fails you can check the version number in the title and see if it is new on any forum visit.

Glad we could help, the official firetrust folks are slacking off since it is Saturday
there and they had a big earthquake that did a lot of damage.

I cannot update from 1.0.15 to 1.0.19 using the update tool. It worked fine for each of the previous updates, but not now. I will download the new version & update 'manually'.

Likewise, clicking on 'Update', I get a message saying that my software is up-to-date. I only found that there was an update, by clicking on my 'Windows Updater', just by chance.

We are really starting to draw blanks on why the update process is being so unreliable for some folk. We think we have all the kinks worked out, but it just seems to tell some folk they are up to date. I was thinking that possibly some ISPs that do heavy caching might be caching the file that is streamed in, so MailWasher isn't actually checking the file against the live copy on the server, but a locally cached copy through the ISP that's not yet up to date.

Can you clarify this last statement, which Windows Updater told you there was a MailWasher update ?johnfairweather wrote:Likewise, clicking on 'Update', I get a message saying that my software is up-to-date. I only found that there was an update, by clicking on my 'Windows Updater', just by chance.

Isn't the update file on the server HTML? If it is could you set a short expire time on it to keep it from being cached for long?
