Go to task manger (Ctrl-Shift-Esc) and kill both the MWP tasks.

Make sure your running the latest version v1.0.19 http://forum.firetrust.com/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=7265

Then, restart MWP & switch off FirstAlert. It is a know problem and is being looked at as a matter of urgency. http://forum.firetrust.com/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=7456

I'm in Task Manager and don't see anything MWP related. I have csrss.exe and I can't stop it nvvsvc.exe ... don't know what that is either! What exactly should I be looking for?

They're not there ... probably because I rebooted?
I found First Alert and disabled it.

Thanks for helping me

The Task Manager stuff was to clear the crashed MWP, the reboot also did the job.

FirstAlert is in: Settings >>> Spam Tools >>> FirstAlert! Untick Enable FirstAlert

Many thanks. How will I know when the problem is resolved and when to enable First Alert?

I'm sure the thread at the top of the forum will be updated when they resolve the issue.

I had the same problem today and am posting this reply so that I can receive a notice via this thread when the issue is resolved.

It would be very unlikely we cannot fix this today, that said....everyone is still working from home....and we just had a big aftershock....only a 5.1 but 5km deep and 10km from the city, so very close.

It's 8:30am and I need a drink already.

FirstAlert disabled here, pending a fix.

Just subscribing to this thread, so I'll get notice when it happens.

Hope RD and all the folks in NZ (ESP the real, 4-legged DOG!) are safe in the interim -- we can wait for this bug fix. ;)

Thanks,

After unticking Enable FirstAlert in the Spam settings, all worked well. I have subsequently reticked it, and all continues to work well. If it freezes again, I know what to do.

I live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where there was a recent swarm of moderate quakes. The big fear is that they are a prelude to Yellowstone going off. If Yellowstone erupts, everyone in a 400 mile radius is dead. I can see the southern edge of Yellowstone from my widow, so if it blows I won't need the fix. All things considered, I'd rather still need the fix.

OK, some braves soles might want to try enabling again and see what happens :)

One of the gateways was failing to properly bind the connections, we aren't sure why but it seems the likley culprit.

RD, I *think* you did take a nip of that special sauce already today, didn't you? <just kidding> ;)

PS Seriously, THAT was a REALLY quick troubleshoot -- wish other software folks were nearly as responsive!
