I have v1.0 installed and just tried it.. Its telling me "unable to contact server"

Yes, middle of the night for us. We'll spend all day on it tomorrow (Monday here) and get it fixed. Just told Developer to restart it

MWM was completely dead yesterday... Just a white screen w/o any info or indication, no visible menu... just blank. Restarted the prog, restarted the phone... same result. Reading this thread, I thought it'd probably be due to the server problems and decided to wait another day... Lo and behold! Today it's up and running again, so my guess must be right..

Nevertheless, I'd say an indication, any indication of something being wrong would have come in nicely..

Agree that the error message needs to be "sticky" so that user know what is wrong. On my iPad when you restart the app and then watch at the top of the screen there is a brief one liner that indicates the problem but it promptly disappears leaving one to wonder what is/isn't happening.
