BUG: V9 no Gmail accouunts

Just updated to V9; installed w/o any problems.
Upon syncing I noticed: none of my Gmail accounts appeared in the mobile app...
Trying to add them manually gave a "duplicate account" error. So they must have synced afterall, they just don't show on my phone...

I had a similar problem but with all accounts. It was of my own doing, I created a UID in MWP that was not what I had used for my IPAD and it gave the duplicate account error on all until I went back to my correct UID and now all is back to normal.

The effect looks similar indeed... Though the cause must be (slightly?) different, as only my Gmail accounts are effected; all other accounts do show in the Android app. Just checked my UID, but all's well there, as far as I can see.. Might very well something over in that corner though..

I suddenly realized the probable cause: In the previous version, I added Gmail to my phone manually with its POP settings, as the app doesn't support IMAP yet. Upon installing V9 I just checked my accounts (including Gmail, wich in MWP is IMAP) and hit "synchronize".

It's my wild guess, doing just that must've scr*wed up things in my mobile account somehow: Gmail does not show up in the app because of the IMAP settings wich the app cannot handle. And because the account does not show in the app, I cannot delete it (or edit it to manually enter the POP settings)...

Franz Kafka revisited..

Ok, we'll have to test that...Did you get it sorted out in the end or do you want us to delete the account so you can start again?

Maybe I'd better start from scratch, so yes: delete. Then we can see what happens if I'd only sync all POP accounts and add Gmail manually with its POP settings.
JFTR: If you delete my account, do I need to create an other inlog?

Ok, I'll get the developer to do that. Might not be today as it's weekend here. Inlog= login? Yes you'll need to create a new one

Also remember that GMail has their gateway checker running and will block access to perceived unauthorized access. They send out an email notifying you of the attempt and then you must respond to that email in a specified time interval in order to authorize access.

1- Created my first "sync-account" again, using the same login/PW as I did originally. No visible E-mail accounts on my mobile, so all seemed well, until..... trying to sync my previously used POP-accounts resulted in an errormssge

:

- errormssge for each of my POP- accounts... :(
- sync_error.jpg (69.82 KiB) Viewed 12148 times
.

2- Added a "new" Gmail account with POP settings to MWP: this account synced perfectly to MWM.
Apparently, your deleting my accounts did not delete my E-mail details..

3- Checked this by creating a new Sync-account with different logindetails: yeap... same errormssge (now including the Gmail POP account that I added under -2).

4- Logged in again (to the Sync-account I created under 1) and added one of my "previously refused" pop- accounts
manually: success!

Conclusion: deleting "Sync-accounts" on your side, does not delete your database of used E-mail accounts, with all due results..

Workaround: Tediously adding all E-mail accounts to the mobile device manually...

Ok, I guess we didn't delete them all (we deleted 2). Do you want to start again or are you ok now? You'd need to send me your email addresses to
[email protected]

Hi Nick;
I only had the two, only difference was an extra h at the end for the second one; I'm sure you deleted both. My wild guess is, that the E-mail accounts that are to be controlled by MWM are registered in a separate database that has not been cleared with deleting the MWM ("sync") accounts. You've got mail... :-)

Created a new "Sync-account" with a different log-in justnow.
Syncing still gives the duplicate mail account error messages

, except for..... my Gmail POP account that I previously synced to my old, now deleted log-in.

Present situation: Gmail, that wouldn't sync to begin with now syncs perfectly but all other accounts give the errormssge.

To make things more complex: adding one of the "refused" accounts manually to my phone, albeit tediously, went w/o problem (again).

After mailing you (FT) the "offending" E-mail addresses, syncing finally works here as it should now; great!
