Linux User out of options.. Even tried MWM....

Hello,

I use XUBUNTU 12.04 32 bit... And I know that MW or MWP will not run in linux / wine.. I tried it... When using MWP or MW in Wine when you close MW, it looses all the account info and you have to constantly punch that back in to get it to poll your email. I tried the MW WEB version but no matter what email address I put in for MWW ( mail washer web) it says it already exists??? Yet, ive never used MWOTW ( mailwasher on the web) before, first time tonight tried it from the tablet and from the url exactly ( well the ip address it says to go to) created the account but when adding my email address doesnt mattery if I put in IMWITHSTUPID@STUPID.COM it says its already in use? lol I dont see how?

What are my options as a linux user?

Thanks,
Christopehr

Hi there,

You should be able to use the old MailWasher 6.54 under WINE in Ubuntu.

Download: http://www.firetrust.com/en/products/ma ... 6/download

So you tried this version of MWM? http://209.213.221.169:9000/ and created a MailWasher ID account there?

I'm not seeing that issue with the web version at http://209.213.221.169:9000/ so I'm unsure why you're seeing the issue. It's still in beta so it's pretty bare bones at this stage. We have an old version via the web http://node.mailwasher.me but that should be working ok too.

The old one just says failed to connect to server when I go to set up a account and create a user name.

Ok it appears we have a problem with those servers. Looking at a fix now..

Do you have another browser you can try it in? I'm seeing some issues with Firefox, but not in Chrome. Still trying to work out why.

Hi,

Ok I am in, on the old site though chromium... So question.... I noticed I cant mark to delete?... Just delete on the old site....

So how often does it check my mail for me?

is all of this correct so far?

and I noticed its pop3 only, so when I delete the msg I dont want, is it deleting it so I dont download it?

Since it's touch enabled for phones, then you're not going to be able to swipe across the email to add to friends or blacklists), then new beta version does allow you to do this though.

You can mark for delete, by clicking the trash icon. When you delete a message, it's gone, you won't be able to download it

It checks when you first login, and thereafter every 3 minutes when you're using it (using pull down to refresh on a phone).

So, it's a bit limited on a desktop. Can you try the new beta version on Chrome instead?

If you're trying the new beta, the login details have to be setup again (you can't use the old version login) and instead of using a username and password to create the Mailwasher account, you set it up with an email address and password

Ok, give us a bit of time to have a look. One of our developers and sys admins are away today so I'll get them to check in the database if it is indeed in there, or there's something else going on.

Can you copy/paste the URL where you're seeing the error that says 'the email address is already in use' in the new beta version.

Just so you know, you sign in with your Mailwasher ID (created with an email address and password), then once logged in you click the gear icon and add email accounts to it.
