There is a delay as it's hosted, so it's only checking every 15 minutes in the background, or 3 minutes if you're using the app

Thanks Nick. However, the phone stopped again downloading after a while. I have always had problems using Outlook 2007 with the Outlook Connecter Add-in and the Mailwasher on the PC. I have now set up and tested my Hotmail account manually on the PC using Micrsoft's settings and all is all working OK. I have removed Outlook Connecter from Outlook 2007. The Mailwasher Desktop inported the new Hotamil account without problem and now checks it OK without the constant connection Errors. However, having again unistalled the Mobile versoin, restarted the phone and re-installed again, The Hotmail account was not synced to the phone and it is again not downloading any emails (not on the Hotmail account!), while the Desktop version is.

Can you make sure you're using IMAP on the mobile version, as POP3 is blocked by default in Hotmail. Go to Settings>>Email Accounts and choose IMAP. The settings should look like this

Server Address: imap-mail.outlook.com
Server Port: 993
This server requires a secure connection (SSL): Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail, outlook.com or Windows Live or mail

Also, Outlook.com has probably blocked your account from being used with MailWasher Mobile, so visit http://www.microsoft.com/en-nz/Account/ ... ivity.aspx and look at your recent activity to see if there's anything there which needs attention, such as a security warning or wrong password. If you see unusual activity in the US at Amazon, that is our servers.

I am unsure of your comment "Can you make sure you're using IMAP on the mobile version". I cannot alter any of the accounts on the mobile; there is no option to do this. Although I have again uninstalled and reinstalled the mobile app and re-syncedd all via the PC, the Hotmail account still does not show on the mobile - only my other 3 mail accounts. The PC version Hotmail (IMAP) works fine. I again received a noticifaction from Microsoft about unusual activity but when I go through the process of checking this unusual activity I find that there is none, only a list of successful log-ins. The only difference betwwen using the PC and the mobile is that the former shows up as 'Firefox' while the latter is an 'Unknown device' but still with successful log-ins. I gave up on the mobile version last year but thought I would try to use it again because of some spam coming through, however it has worked only intermittently and now and I will probably have to give up on it again.

If you login to the mobile app, then click the gear icon, then click on your email account. You'll see 2 buttons IMAP and POP3, make sure IMAP is selected and that the settings are as I mentioned for Hotmail.
