Can not add Outlook.com email to MW Mobile

I have tried adding my Outlook email to MW Mobile on my iPhone 12 Pro (ios 16.5) multiple times without success. Get same error message "Your email provider has indicated your email settings are not correct". Can connect perfectly on MW desktop (Windows 11) with same IMAP settings. Is there a setting in the iPhone that needs to be changed to correct this? Redy to give up.

Yes, all outlook/hotmail/msn accounts now use OAUTH which MW Mobile does not yet support sorry....

There is a way around this though, you'll first need to enable 2 step authentication/two-step verification:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... rification

Then create app password as the link above shows, then use that in MW Mobile instead of your normal outlook.com password as per below screenshot:

If that still does not allow the connection, check in your security activity page:

https://account.microsoft.com/security? ... rosoft.com

To ensure MW is not being blocked.....

Hi again, I set up two factor authentication for my account, created an app password, used that password in MW Mobile app to add email account, nd nada. Same error message. I deleted my Outlook.com app on my phone and tried again without success. No unusual security activity was logged which kind of implies no connection attempt is being made (another iPhone messing things up?)

Would appreciate any other ideas what to try. It shouldn't be this difficult right?

OK sure thing, in that case, there really is unfortunately not much more we can do, the current mobile version is very limited and has no logging to see where the error is, it's in desperate need of a update however we're currently working on the new PC version and cannot get started on this until after that's completed....

Note that the mobile version is a free app, so we really do need to get the paid PC version working first so we can continue.

Sometimes the account setup works via app passwords, sometimes not... I am very sorry about that!!
