I have been running the trial version of OKInbox and quite liked how it worked, however I noticed on a few occasions looking at Event Viewer that the addin was taking a long time to load (between 7 to 8 seconds at times) and thus stalling the opening of Outlook. Is this due to the number of emails within a digest, as this would have a limiting effect on the number of emails that you could direct via OKInbox and also to the infrequency of Digest releases.
Thanks for your help

Hi
Do you mean when Outlook opens and loads the Add-in? Or when you click on a digest? We'll have an update in the next few days which will address the problem of digests taking a long time to open.

Re: OKInbox Observations
Hi Nick,
I am talking about when Outlook opens. If you look in Windows Logs at the Application log and Filter for Outlook as the Event Source then you get to see the Boot Time for any Outlook Addins. Good to hear that you have an update to fix the digests taking a while to open. I had one with ten embedded emails and it took a fair while to open. My 15 day trial has now ended, when the update comes out am I going to be able to check it out by just installing over the top or will I have to completely uninstall and start from scratch with the new version.
Thanks.

Re: OKInbox Observations
Thanks for letting me know about the boot time. For now, to get your trial back to square one, just go to the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Firetrust\OkInbox and delete the keys 0xb0, 0xb1 and 'registered to'. Pretty easy to circumvent for now

Re: OKInbox Observations
Thanks for the update Nick. It might be worthwhile keeping an eye on the addin boot times as I think the increased times correspond to when you open Outlook and a new digest is being processed for the first time. I will reinstate my trial and carry on checking it out.
Thanks for the info

Re: OKInbox Observations
Ok, we've got a new version on the website. It should be much faster at loading the add-in on startup, plus displaying the digest emails.

Re: OKInbox Observations
Just downloaded this but when I run it I am getting a failure when it is trying to remove the ODBC components. I get an error box saying "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor" When I okay that I then get the OkInbox installer saying that "the setup ended prematurely because of an error". System Log shows error 1722

Re: OKInbox Observations
Thanks for letting me know. Which version of Outlook was it for? Sounds like the download got corrupted perhaps. If you could post the error log or send it to me nick.bolton@firetrust.com that would be helpful
Thanks

Re: OKInbox Observations
Doesn't look as though server copy is corrupted as I get the same results with your latest copy. The install gets to the point where it is trying to remove ODBC components, it opens a window with Windows/System32 and then it dies. Will email you screenshot. Was wondering whether I should uninstall and then try a fresh install?

Re: OKInbox Observations
Thanks, if you have the 'install.log' file from Documents>>OkInbox, that would be helpful. I'll pass it on to the developers
I would try to uninstall, then re-install. Also, after you uninstall, remove the files from this location manually
C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\Firetrust\OkInbox
and you could also try removing the 2 folders from
C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0

Re: OKInbox Observations
Uninstalled and removed the files you suggested but still had to do one further thing which was run the Windows Installer Clean Up (the replacement for the old MSICUU) as OKInbox was still in there. After that was able to install the new version.
Also found an MSI log in my temp directory which may give you some info

Thanks for this and the logs. It appears from the logs that you're installing the old version somehow.
15/01/2013 15:29:32 Version: OkInbox for Microsoft Outlook 2010 x86 1.0.2012 (10110)

Perhaps try running the updater from http://cdn.firetrust.com/downloads/OkIn ... .0.115.exe (it's only 2.7MB)
Thanks for the info on the typo - now sure how we missed that!
