I am using HIdeaway 4.8.0. All Computer, Los Angeles, Don't redirect email is unchecked. Skype does not work correctly. I can receive a call (no camera here) but when I make a call there is an abnormal ring tone instead of the little Skype ring song and it will not connect. When I receive a call the audio is good but cannot share screens in either direction. And then Skype just disappears, it spontaneously terminates.
Finally I just quit Hideaway altogether and then Skype worked fine.
Do you know anything about this or have any work arounds or fixes?

Hi,
We've not heard of this before. But we'll try and replicate it and come back to you. Thanks for reporting it.
One question, did you have anything reasonably bandwidth intensive going on in the background?

Hi,
I tried calling through Los Angles (from New Zealand, back to New Zealand) and it all worked fine with video etc. I wonder if it might have just been just an intermittent problem? I didn't see any crash either.

Re: Skype does not work
Skype still does not work here, version 4.91. When I kill all 3 Hideaway processes in Task Man then Skype starts to work. What Can I do? Is there some sort of exclude ? I am using All Computer

Re: Skype does not work
I found this on the Skype trouble shooting
Are you using a VPN?
If you are connected to a VPN and the call is unable to connect, then disconnect from the VPN and try the call again.
But now with Hideaway on start up it is not so simple to turn it on and off

Re: Skype does not work
more testing
Redirect Skype works, All computer does not
If I kill all Hideaways in taskman, start skype, make a test call, hangup THEN start Hideaway it seems to work

Re: Skype does not work
If your internet connection generally quite fast? Are you connecting to quite a distant location? I know Skype likes to have low latency.
Soon you'll be able to create custom filters to add/exclude/block any website/app/IP/port in HideAway

Re: Skype does not work
Hello, dsicon! Skype seems pretty laggy last few months. When we used the Skype app for our meetings, always appeared some related issues. It was a different type of problems, starting with similar to yours, to some sound-related issues. We decided to look for some private platform for streaming our conference call. For Big conference call (over 30), we use this site brightvisionevents.co.uk. The service works perfectly and the company provider is always in touch with us, solving technical issues during our presentations or team building events.
