Problem with Hideaway and Sonos sound system??

Thu Jul 09, 2015 2:19 pm

I have a WiFi connected Sonos sound system that I access through my laptop and have found that if Hideaway is active on my laptop I cannot access my Sonos system. As soon as I quit Hideaway I can access the Sonos system with a problem.
Hoping Nick might offer an explanation for this or better still a fix or a solution.
Cheers.

Hi Whiskey

I imagine it's just a matter of excluding those ports which SONOS uses, because if you have added rules which redirect your entire computer to another location, then your SONOS product no longer thinks your computer is local. I'd delete your current rules first as they're both blank which means your entire computer is redirected to the closest location.

I'd add in the preset rule for BBC iplayer.

So in the 'My Rules' page, click 'Add New Rule', search for BBC and click ADD.

Add any others in there you want to use too.

We just added in an 'Exclude Sonos' rule, so you could also enable that.

The user guide might be good to read too http://cdn.firetrust.com/docs/hideaway/ ... /index.htm
