Install and Rules problem

Windows10 v10240

I have run into two problems recently with HideAway 1.3.1.1

Firstly: When installing HideAway the program is looking for a Windows file but not from where Windows is installed on C drive but from D drive.
I click on cancel and the installation completes and all is working OK. Just wondering why this happens.

Secondly: I was experimenting with a rule for Microsoft Edge Browser and the update to the rule just kept hanging.
After this happened I uninstalled and reinstalled HideAway and now HideAway hangs on "Please wait while your HideAway rules are loaded"
after logging in

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Try again now and redo the rule for your Edge browser. I'd first check under the Traffic screen in HideAway while using Edge and look at the Process column to get the right exe name for the browser. I don't have a Win10 install at present otherwise I'd do this :)

But I assume it's going to be something like edge.exe which is all you need to filter for when creating the filter.

As for the file popup. Don't suppose you have a previous install of the WinPK Lightweight filter on the machine ?

All working OK now.

Problem with Edge browser was that the .exe was hidden inside a folder that's inside a folder and so on and not shown as separate exe file. (gotta love new ideas by Microsoft)

Thanks for the tip about looking at the traffic screen as HideAway has shown it as "MicrosoftEdgeCP.exe" and when added to rules traffic is now redirected.

Ethernet properties do show WinPK Lightweight filter with a tick

Thanks for your assistance

Great. We'll get MS Edge covered in a default browser rule as well for future use.

It looks like a previous install of WinPK (which we also use) causes this popup, I get the same on my machine and thought it was just local to my setup having installed/uninstalled WinPK and Hideaway constantly.

One more thing Geoff, HideAway is definitely working and redirecting ?

Just have this feeling that by cancelling the popup for the HideAway driver, that it may not work. I assume you've tested redirecting to another country or similar?
