Hideaway 1.4.0 & Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Hi.

I installed the Windows 10 Anniversary update over the weekend and now Hideaway 1.4.0 crashes every time it's started. I looked at Uninstalling/Reinstalling but it no longer shows as an installed program on my system. I tried a simple reinstall without uninstalling but nothing changed, it still crashes immediately.

Tried the 2.0 Beta using Internet explorer and routing through London so I could get to ITV and it would did nothing when I hit the play button. Changed it to All of the Computer and London and I can now access ITV.

Finally, since Sept 1, apparently you need a TV license in order to access the BBC iPlayer. I'm guessing that this change will stop us from using Hideaway to access this site.

Brent

Update: The install without doing the uninstall put Hideaway in a position that it was not recognized as an installed program. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and it's working fine now.

Update 2: Spoke too soon. Hideaway 1.4.0 just crashed again.

Hi there

Seems to be an issue when Windows 10 updates itself, something we're trying to work out - but appears to be related to our certificate for the driver we use.

If you uninstall, you need to restart windows, then install 1.4 again and restart Windows for it to work.

When asked if you have a TV license, if you say Yes, then they don't check it. It won't affect you watching BBC iPlayer if you want to.

Thanks for the information, Nick.

Never would have thought to just say that I had a license, but it works fine now.

Cheers.

Update to that : tried uninstalling Hideaway, rebooting windows, reinstalling Hideaway - same problem...
Final update - reinstalled again - reboot - it works!!
Many thanks to whoever tweaked the server at your end :)
